Pflugerville’s 40th Annual Deutschen Pfest This Weekend

dpfest40It’s time for Deutschen Pfest, y’all! This year marks the Pfest’s 40th anniversary, and it’s all happening this weekend at Pfluger Park, from Friday, May 15, through Sunday, May 17.

The Pfest is always bursting with pfun, with children’s games and activities, shopping booths, a Fun Run and Kids’ 1K on Sunday morning, and of course the Deutschen Pfest Parade and children’s parade at 10 AM Saturday morning (the parades are FREE to attend and feature marching bands and classic cars along with community organizations and dignitaries, including Chuck Norris). Check out the festival map here to see what’s going on and where. (Note that this year’s carnival has been canceled due to rain.)

Children ages 6 and younger get into Deutschen Pfest for FREE; for adults and children 7 and older, entry fees to the Pfest are just $5 on Friday and Sunday, and $7 on Saturday — but if you purchase a Pfest t-shirt for just $12 (or $10 for a children’s size), you can get free admission all weekend long while wearing the shirt.

Once you’re in the Pfest, the live music is free to enjoy throughout the day! Central Texas favorite Dale Watson headlines on Saturday, and the Eggmen play Sunday afternoon; these are just two highlights among many in a lineup that includes bands, choirs, yodelers and more. Check out the full live music and entertainment schedule for specific information on bands, activities and entertainers.

There is also a handy Pfone App you can download for Deutschen Pfest information at your fingertips.
