Microsoft One-Day Coding Camps

The Microsoft Store in The Domain will offer open coding hours for students age 13 and up. These “camps” use a self-led program and run every Friday, from July 11 through August 22, 2014.

YouthSpark CodeIT! Hours
10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Recommended for age 13+

Want to play a game that doesn’t exist yet? You could simply make it yourself during open coding hours. Go behind the screens with TouchDevelop to learn how to build and publish amazing mobile games, and receive prizes for each level you unlock. Complete all levels and receive a Microsoft backpack perfect for going back to school.

DigiGirlz Smart Game Designing
3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Recommended for girls age 13+

Experience a whole new world by using a touch screen on a Surface Pro 2 and learn to use two new tools that program great games. With TouchDevelop if you can point, you can program and play with mobile app games. After this, enter into a virtual universe where players create and creators play.

With Project Spark you create entire new worlds, program heroes and villains, edit a character’s brain, and design an entire game. This is a fun-filled workshop with lots of hands-on features.

You must RSVP to attend either of the above camps. To do so, navigate to the Friday of your choice on the Microsoft Store calendar, click the RSVP button, and follow the registration process from there.
