Wednesday, March 8 is International Women’s Day – a day to raise awareness against bias, take action for equality, and celebrate women. In addition to International Women’s Day, the month of March is also Women’s History Month.

To honor and advocate women’s rights further, we present this list of events where you can celebrate women in Austin starting TODAY!

Justice Impacted Girls and Women’s Rally In Austin
Wednesday, March 8 | From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Texas State Capitol, 1100 Congress Avenue
Celebrate the success and voice the struggles of currently and formerly incarcerated girls and women. Meet at the Southside steps and celebrate International Women’s Day! They will have four State Legislators sharing about the work they are doing in support of girls and women who are currently or formerly incarcerated as well as women in community organizations that are directly impacted and doing tremendous work to give back.

Evening of Wellness on International Women’s Day
Wednesday, March 8 | From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.| South Congress Hotel, 1603 Congress Avenue

This donation-based gathering is an opportunity to come together in community to honor, celebrate, and uplift women everywhere. We are thrilled to announce that 100% of proceeds from this event will go directly to support the non-profit Truth Be Told, an organization that provides transformational trauma-responsive programs for women who are or have been incarcerated to promote healing and empowerment, and break the cycle of incarcerations for themselves, their families, and their communities. Join local, women-owned, small businesses Crisp & Crude and Funk It Wellness, and celebrated Austin-based wellness instructors, Cynthia Bernard (aka ATXYogaGirl), Kate Waitzkin, and Meg Sylvester for an evening to nourish your mind, body, and spirit.
