Training wheels are out and woom bikes are in! woom, A global bike brand was started in Austria but open its U.S. headquarters in Austin in 2014. This weekend they’re opening up their showroom for a family-friendly back to school extravaganza, you don’t want to miss it! Why woom will have the whole family zooming through Austin in now time!
woom’s story began when two bike loving dads, Christian Bezdeka and Marcus Ihlenfeld, to develop a bike for their kids that would perfectly fit the proportions and riding behavior of children. Before founding woom, Marcus taught over 200 children how to ride a bike on the street right in front of the garage. He allowed them to experience that magical moment!
Over the years woom became one of Europe’s most popular and successful children’s bike manufacturers. Today they are present in 30 countries worldwide, including Austria, Germany and Switzerland as well as the Scandinavian countries, Spain, France, Italy and elsewhere. Woom also has a presence in the USA and China.
These direct-to-consumer bikes make riding a bike fun! Due to their innovative balance pedal bikes for kids it allows them to grow with the rides while they keep improving their riding technique. Their bikes remove the chunky training wheels and allow the kids to start on pedal-less balance bikes. Essentially they are revolutionizing how children learn to cycle.
woom’s Family-Friendly Back To School Extravaganza at Austin Showroom
When: Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 9am to 1pm
What: woom is hosting a back to school extravaganza! Attendees are invited to trade-in anything with wheels (scooters, bikes, unicycles, etc.) for up to $100 toward a woom ORIGINAL bike. Kids can test ride woom’s bikes on the outdoor track at their USA Headquarters. Families can cool down with sweet treats from an onsite ice cream truck!
This event is free and open to the public. Limited helmets will be provided for test rides, but families are encouraged to bring their own.
