As we already told you, getting into FREE SXSW events isn’t as easy as it used to be. Gone are the days of walking past an event with a short line and popping in. Now you have to RSVP to everything.

In this installment of FREE SXSW 2020 events, we’re bringing you the best female empowerment events. Over the past few years, female empowerment has become a very important part of SXSW. Participating companies, as well as the festival itself, do a great job of bringing female focused topics to light as well as inviting powerful women to participate as keynote speakers.

To get you ahead of the RSVP game, we’ve narrowed down some of the best FREE events where you can get your girl power on!

The Women and Wealth Lounge
Saturday, March 14| From 12 to 6 p.m.| Capital One Café, 106 East 6th Street
Enjoy a full day of female-focused networking, inspiring money talks, and financial empowerment at the Capital One Cafe in downtown Austin during Austin’s most exciting time of the year! This event is FREE with RSVP. Throughout the day, you can mingle with women-led partners from Ladies Get Paid and The Riveter, or attend one of the Coffee & Coin interviews where women share the candid details of their money journeys including her successes, setbacks, and real numbers.

Lady Tech Marketer Live Podcast and Meetup Featuring Music by Ali Holder
Saturday, March 14| From 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.| Stay Gold, 1910 East Cesar Chavez Street
This is the chance for you to connect with the Lady Tech Marketer community, learn from smart marketers, and have a ball at a live show with Austin’s beloved musician Ali Holder – as a continued celebration of women. While they’ve met capacity for event registrants, non-registered attendees are welcome and event admission is FREE, however priority admission will be given to registered attendees and SXSW badge holders until venue capacity is met.

Create & Cultivate
Sunday, March 15| From 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.| Allan House, 1104 San Antonio Street
Join Create & Cultivate for a one day only pop-up event filled with panels, live podcasts, and a mentor power hour. With keynote speakers such as Michelle Pfeiffer, you won’t want to miss this amazing female empowered pop-up! For a full guest lineup and schedule click here.

Ladies Who Launch
Monday, March 16| From 5 to 8:30 p.m.| The Riveter, 1145 West 5th Street
This event will be an energetic and dynamic gathering of 100+ women in business. The goal is to help women-led businesses of all sizes and conceptual stages come together to collaborate, connect, strengthen their livelihoods, and discuss topics that are pertinent to their work. Though the event is FREE, you must register to reserve your spot.

Feminine is More: Women’s Networking Event
Tuesday, March 17| From 4 to 6 p.m.| 3403 South Lamar Boulevard
Join BlahBlah Media for an evening of happy hours and networking with other women! This female-exclusive event, proudly held during SXSW, will promote the power of women in the workplace and create a platform for collaboration and mingling with other powerful women in the Austin working world.

Bumble Hive
Friday, March 13 through Wednesday, March 18 | From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (daily)| Jo’s Coffee Shop Downtown, 242 West 2nd Street
For the second SXSW in a row, Bumble will pop up at Jo’s Coffee. They’ll be transforming the cafe and restaurant into the Bumble Hive, a dynamic, Instagram-friendly space for the community to both take a break from the bustle of the week and enjoy daily programming with an overarching theme: The Future of Connection. They’ll be imagining — and fostering — a world where all relationships are healthy, safe, and equal.

CareFreeBlackGirl Cookout 
Saturday, March 21| From 7 p.m. to 12 a.m.| Sheraton Backyard, 70 East 10th Street
Headed to SXSW for a second year, the CareFreeBlackGirl welcomes all festival attendees and the Austin community to join for an evening of carefree fun. The event features a lineup of upcoming and buzzing black women from all over the country. Giveways from Redbull , Curls, and Tiffs Treats included.
