It’s Our GIANT List of Austin Halloween Fun and Fall Festivals 2019

Take advantage of the (slightly) cooler fall weather in Austin by visiting pumpkin patches, haunted houses, and festivals galore! Whether you’re a fan of dressing up and decorating with all the other ghosts and goblins, or you just love the smell of pumpkin spice and crisp leaves in the air, fall is an amazing time in Central Texas. Harvest of Fall Fun! (Marble Falls)
September 21 through November 10 | 1801 FM 1980 Marble Falls 
Harvest of Fall Fun runs September 22 through November 4, 2018. Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Closed all Wednesdays. Parking is FREE. The pumpkins and gourds are individually priced. Admission is FREE, but each activity has a fee. Activities include a hayride, corn maze, scarecrow stuffing, a train, and flower picking, and pumpkin painting just to name a few (seriously, there are a TON of activities for an additional fee). Boo at the Zoo

Boo at the Zoo is a fun-filled evening for ghosts and goblins of any age. Come dressed in your Halloween finest (no adult masks, please) and enjoy our Zoo-wide event including the Zoo bedecked in Halloween spookiness, our nocturnal animals, an eerie train ride and unlimited passes through our mansion. Tickets to certain special items within Boo at the Zoo have limited seating. Extra events include a haunted train ride and musical performances for and additional fee. The Zoo will be illuminated and decorated for the occasion. Tickets are $17.50 per person, kids under two are free. Purchase your tickets at the gift shop or by calling 512-288-1490.

Story Time in the Pumpkin Patch

Ghost Tours on the Square
October 11, 12, 25, 26| from 7:30 to 9 p.m. | 116 W. 8th Street (Georgetown)
Ghost Tours on the Square are hosted by the Williamson Museum. Tour times for both days are 7:30, 8:00, 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. Later tours will be scarier than those held earlier in the evening. Purchase tickets at the Williamson Museum or by phone at 512-943-1670. Tickets are $20 for non-museum members and $15 for members and students. Crowe’s Nest Farms Fall Family Fun Days (Manor)

There will be lots of local vendors selling everything from fresh organic produce, eggs, honey, jam, and bread, to a variety of hand-made crafts, plus lots of special events, like raptor shows, snake lessons, a corn and potato cannon booth, and much more! We are excited to have a new music stage in the picnic area where we will have live music from talented local artists all four Saturdays of October this year! Admission is FREE under 2 $3 for 2-year-olds, $7 for ages 3 to 12, and $10 for ages 13+. Check the Facebook page to get the latest details.

Halloween Movies at Community First Village Community Cinema

Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to a free movie night at our Community First! Village.Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screening. Come explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks from the Community Grille. Burgers, french fries, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase (cards and cash accepted!). The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated. Donations can be made electronically when RSVPing to this event. We encourage you to support our Community Grille rather than bringing outside food and drinks. Dress in weather-appropriate clothing and don’t forget your flashlights and bug spray. We also recommend wearing closed-toe shoes. Dogs on leashes are welcome at Community Cinema movie nights! Movies begin at full dark and/or ~an hour after event start time, depending on the season.

Nightmare on Jail Hill Haunted House (Georgetown)

Nightmare on Jail Hill Haunted House takes place at the Historic Williamson County Jail. This rumored haunted jailhouse, which held prisoners from 1889 through 1990, has been featured on the popular show “Ghost Hunters.” Fast Pass tickets are $25, adult tickets are $15 and child tickets are $5 (ages 8-12). All proceeds benefit the Brown Santa program. *The historic jail is NOT handicap accessible. Tickets can be purchased here.

Family Festival Pumpkin Patch

Offering fun and activities for the whole family, the pumpkin patch will feature kid-friendly programming, carnival games, bounce house, vendors, and live music.

Barton Hill Farm Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch

Head to Barton Hill Farms and make memories with friends and family! They have fun activities for all ages. From taking fall photos and picking out your pumpkin in the pumpkin patch, to getting lost in the corn maze, jumping on the jumping pillow, playing human foosball, corn hole, and more, you are sure to have a great day! If you’re looking for delicious food and cold drinks, check out the concession stand. They have Lavell’s Lemonade, cold beer, frozen sangria, and other refreshing beverages. They also offer 100% all beef hot dogs, 100% Angus beef burgers, sno-cones, pulled pork sandwiches, and kettle corn. Admission is $13.95 online and $15.95 at the gate. Parking is free.

Evergreen Farms Pumpkin Hunt (Elgin)
Weekends in October

The Pumpkin Hunt is a family-friendly event where children of all ages can enjoy fall activities. All activities are ongoing throughout the day, allowing families to customize their experience at the farm. Pumpkins of all sizes will be available for purchase. The premier event, the Pumpkin Hunt, includes a wagon ride into the Christmas tree fields where mini pumpkins are hidden in the trees. After the Hunt, enjoy pumpkin decorating on the pavilion along with great concessions at the concessions stand and other activities and games. The Evergreen Farms authentic pumper fire truck will again be at the Pumpkin Hunt. The truck will stop on the ride and demonstrate how the hoses and pumps work as well as sounding the sirens along the way. Each child will receive a fire hat after the ride. 

Haunted Halloween Trails at Pioneer Farms

Creepy scarecrows, ghost stories and all things scary will be featured at our annual Haunted Halloween Trails festival.  This year’s theme: Victorian Gothic Trails of Terror. The Spook-tober extravaganza will be open on Friday and Saturday nights on Oct. 18-19, 25-27, 31 from 7-11 p.m. nightly.  Admissions close at 10 p.m. Open rain or shine! No refunds. No pets, please. This year’s event will feature a new Ghost Run haunted trail with spook lights and more, and lots of family fun activities on Scream Street in our entrance village, including a pumpkin-carving contest. Live music will be offered nightly in our historic dance hall. Storytellers will be on site all nights to give visitors a peek into their past or future, along with other spooky fun. Historical ties with Halloween abound.
Food concessions will be available each night, from food trucks.
New prices: Early Bird advance tickets are $15 per adult, and $10 per child. Ticket prices at the gate will cost more, so buy now to save money and avoid long lines at the gate!

Elgin Christmas Tree Farm Fall Festival

Halloween Party (Round Rock) (RSVP)

Hop into your costumes and bring treats to share – the Round Rock Public Library is throwing a Halloween bash!  Children ages 18 months and older may join us with their parent/guardian for stories, songs, treats, and Halloween fun. RSVP required.

Evergreen Farms Pumpkin Hunt

Oktoberfest

The German-Texan Heritage Society will hold their annual festival, which will include live music, food, a biergarten, activities for kids, and more. Adult tickets are $10 at the gate; children 12 and under are FREE.

Tween Ghost Tour
Friday, October 11  | at 5 p.m.  | Georgetown Public Library, 402 West 8th Street, Georgetown
Williamson Museum will be giving tweens and their adult companions ghost tours around downtown Georgetown. We’ll meet at the library in the Children’s Room at 5 pm for our tour and have tasty treats when we get back. Event is free and open to tweens ages 9-12. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Due to limited space, FREE tickets for issued beginning an hour before the program (4 pm). First come, first served. Program is limited to 30 tweens. Pfloating Pumpkin Patch

Visit the coolest pumpkin patch in Pflugerville! Pick your pumpkin, decorate it, and stay for the pfun games and treats. Take a dip in the pool, pick your pumpkin, decorate it and stay for pfun games and treats. The pool will also be open for recreational swim during the event. Price: $10 per adult (includes one medium pumpkin), $5 per child (includes one small pumpkin), or $3 per person (no pumpkin included).

Halloween Craft Night

Join us for a family fun crafting project! We will be making Fall Jack o’ Lanterns. We will supply everything you need to create a one of a kind fun craft for you to take home. Wear clothes you can get messy in! Child care is provided at no cost for children under the age of 6. $5 per person.

Pfall Chili Pfest (Pflugerville)

Touch A Truck (Round Rock)

Touch a Truck provides a unique opportunity for children to explore vehicles of all types – public service, emergency, utility, construction, transportation, delivery, and just plain cool – all in one place. Those young and young at heart will be allowed to touch, climb on, and ask questions about their favorite trucks in a safe, supervised environment. There will be a “no horn hour” for those with sensitive ears or who do not respond well to loud noises from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. There will also be a Kid Fun Zone! The event is FREE and no registration is required, but guests are encouraged to bring a canned food item donation to donate to the Round Rock Serving Center. Eagle Fest

Bring your family and friends to enjoy the wonderful carnival atmosphere, play games, and raise money for our school! Eagle Fest is our largest-attended PTA fundraiser and 100% of the proceeds go directly to our Summitt students! Ticket bundles may be purchased for $5 for games and food.

Austin High Monster Concert
Saturday, October 19  | from 3:30 to 9 p.m.  | Austin High, 1715 Cesar Chavez
The cornerstone of this event is a concert featuring orchestras from Vertical Team elementary and middle schools as well as the various orchestras at Austin High School.  Also performing this year are orchestras from Crockett High School. In addition to concert performances in the AHS Performing Arts Center (PAC), the Monster Concert features a carnival with a variety of games and delicious food. During the weeks leading up to the Monster Concert, students and parents from the AHS orchestras build an incredible and very popular haunted house. All proceeds from the Monster Concert and Carnival support the Orchestra program at Austin High School.

The Great Pumpkin Festival (Round Rock)

Join the St. Richard’s community as we celebrate our Great Pumpkin Festival! This event will be held at St. Richard’s Episcopal Church on Sunday, October 21 and kicks off at 2 p.m. and closes at 6 p.m. We’ll enjoy live music, food trucks, pony rides and a petting zoo, bouncy houses, and so much more. This is a free event open to the entire community. Everyone is welcome! We ask that you bring two cans of food benefiting Round Rock Serving Center as admittance to the event. Georgetown Halloween Festival (Georgetown)

13th Annual Murder, Mayhem and Misadventure Walking Tour

Join us for the 13th annual Murder, Mayhem & Misadventure Walking Tour Oct 26th, 2019 at Historic Oakwood Cemetery in Austin. The free tours cover the chilling, untimely deaths of “residents” of Oakwood portrayed by actors at their grave sites. One hour tours highlight historical – not scary – 1860s-1910s events and start every 15-20 minutes between 10 am-3:15pm near the newly restored Oakwood chapel. Kids under adult supervision are welcome, but please leave your pets at home and wear closed-toed shoes. Sponsored by non-profit Save Austin’s Cemeteries. Donations welcome!

Hogeye Festival (Elgin)

The FREE festival features live music and entertainment on three stages, handmade arts and crafts, children’s activities, a children’s costume pet parade, a carnival, Road Hog Car Show, BBQ Pork Cook-Off, In a Pig’s Eye Corn Hole Contest, Hogalicious Dessert Contest, Cow Patty Bingo, the Pearls Before Swine Art Show and great festive food! Viva la Vida Festival and Parade

Mexic-Arte Museum’s Viva La Vida Fest is Austin’s largest and longest-running Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival. The festival features a Grand Procession, the Education Pavilion with hands-on art activities and artist demos, and a celebration with traditional foods, local artist and retail booths, a low-rider exhibition, live music and performances throughout the day. Haunted House & Halloween Movie Night

Join us for an unforgettable experience as you walk through the Cat Hollow Pavilion transformed into a Haunted House! Full-on SCARE and kid-friendly experiences available. Free! Roots and Wings Festival

Fable Fest is a unique event that brings costumes, storytelling and live demonstrations to the Cedar Park community. Funds raised from the event will benefit the Cedar Park Public Library by paying for reading programs, advanced technologies and expanding the current library collections for years to come.  The King’s Carnival allows kids of all ages to play games, participate in arts and crafts, hop on inflatables, and enjoy a petting zoo and pony rides (requires tickets purchased at event). The Cobblestone Market provides the opportunity to shop with a variety of Arts and Craft vendors and other area merchants. The Pig’s Pub provides an opportunity to eat your fill on food & drink of all kinds. The Royal Academy is home to fearless demonstrations of Jousting, Archery, Fencing and other Kingdom sports. Admission to the Carnival is FREE but activities require tickets which can be purchased at the event. 8th Annual Kids’ Ball

This free, family-friendly Halloween event returns for the seventh year, presented by White Ghost Shivers and Creative Action! All are encouraged to dress up to have a great time, grooving to spooky tunes, making art, playing pretend, and hanging with family! Creative Action will be providing a variety of interactive activities including costume-making, art stations, music and movement exercises, and a photo booth, from 5-8:30 pm. White Ghost Shivers takes the stage from 6- 8:30 

The mission of Creative Action is to spark and support the academic, social and emotional development of young people, and White Ghost Shivers is always thrilled at the chance to inspire kids of all ages!

Ella’s Haunted Mansion

Calling all goblins and ghosts; Ella’s Haunted Mansion at Hotel Ella is back for another year of frights and delights! On Sunday, October 27th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.Hotel Ella will kick off a full day of Halloween tricks and treats for the whole family. Costumes are encouraged!
The annual spook-tacular features a full day of ghastly good times including, outdoor games and activities, brunch buffet from Goodall’s and boo(zy) specialty cocktails, and live music. Guests and ghouls are invited to join spooky tours of the historic mansion that leave every 20 minutes during the event and available via reservation. Witches and wizards of all ages are invited to Hotel Ella’s sprawling front lawn for:

5th Annual Straw Fest

​Straw Fest is a free fall festival hosted by the UMLAUF every year on the final Sunday in October. Stop by to enjoy pumpkin carving, a petting zoo, a fall fashion show, and plenty of other fall activities for the whole family. Join the fun for a number of family-friendly interactive activities! The UMLAUF will be at capacity with over 2,000 kids and families for this popular community-wide day of family fun from 11 am – 5 pm, Family fun including a spring-free trampoline, pumpkin carving, screen printing, a petting zoo, face paining, live music, lawn games, three family and pet fashion shows, and more all day long!

Fall Fest (Manchaca)

If we need to change (which seems very unlikely) we will announce by Friday afternoon. There is a rain site so the show will go on! There will be food, drinks and ices available and there are lots of restaurants and convenience stores within a couple of hundred yards of the museum if you don’t find what you need here! Coolers are totally allowed, beer alas is not. Bring a shirt and get it printed on site! Parking is available at the Hyde Park Christian Church about 1/8 of a mile east of us on 45th street. There’s also the Fresh Plus parking lot at 43rd & Ave G. Please be kind to our residential neighbors. Better yet, BIKE OR BUS! There are SEVEN Capitol Metro bus lines that stop within a 1/4 mile of here! Opa! FREE!!

Spooktober Fall Fest

The Friends of Austin State Supported Living Center invites you to attend the 6th annual Spooktober 5k & Fall Festival. This family-friendly event includes a timed 5k run/walk through the beautiful 97 acres of rolling hills of our West Austin Campus, a Kids K and a Fall Festival. Enjoy a great music, food trucks, face painting, moonwalk, petting zoo, games, and activities, vendor marketplace and more.
The Spooktober 5k and Fall Festival will kick off at 9 am with the 5k run/walk, followed by the Kids K at 10:30. The Fall Festival will run from 9 am until 1 pm. Proceeds from the event will directly fund the Friends mission to improve the quality of life for over 180 residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities who live at the Austin State Supported Living Center.

Bam! Zoom! Pow! Superheroes WOW! Fly into the park for a fun filled morning with all your favorite superheroes. Jump on a hayride, conquer a game, charge up on treats and eats! Zoom through a new book and come take a look. We will have carnival games for toddlers and preschoolers, hayrides, cookies and punch and fun entertainment for all to enjoy. Be sure to wear you favorite costume! Guests are encouraged to bring a canned item for the Round Rock Serving Center.

Light the Night Fall Fun Fest

A free night of rides, inflatables, games, prizes, candy and more! As a Christian alternative to Halloween, we request no scary costumes please. This event is free, but please consider bringing a canned food item to contribute to our community food outreach partners.
