Exploring Self Through Writing: Writing Workshop with Author Marion Winik

MarionWinik_B&WJoin the Austin Public Library’s Adult Summer Reading Program and renowned author Marion Winik for a unique workshop where attendees will explore life through the art of memoir writing.

The free workshop will take place on Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Hampton Branch at Oak Hill.

Writer Marion Winik was awarded the key to the City of Austin when she moved away in 1999, and her heart has never left. She is the author of eight books of creative nonfiction, among them the New York Times Notable Books First Comes LoveThe Glen Rock Book of the Dead and Above Us Only Sky. Winik writes a column at BaltimoreFishbowl.com, reviews books for Newsday and Kirkus, and teaches at the University of Baltimore. She has written for The New York Times, The Sun, The Daily Beast and many other publications, and was a commentator on NPR’s All Things Considered for fifteen years.
