One awesome thing about Austin charities is they find fun and easy ways for you to support your community. AIDS Services of Austin is no exception with their 25th annual Dining Out For Life event on Tuesday, April 25. Literally all you have to do is go out to eat at one of more than 60 Austin restaurants are participating this year. That’s it!
Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner. Your call! Dining Out For Life is an all-day event. You can visit several restaurants if you want. The more you eat, the more money that goes to support services like HIV and STD testing, case management, dental care, legal aid, support groups, and much more.
If you want to blast your social media accounts, use the hashtag #DineOutATX and make sure you tag the participating restaurant. Suddenly that Instagram photo of your entree isn’t so self-indulgent anymore.
These restaurants will take your payment and turn a percentage of it over to ASA. The ASA will use it to support their mission to enhance the health and well-being of the community and people affected by HIV and AIDS. In 2016, Dining Out For Life raised more than $40,000 to support local programs and services right here in Austin.
“We are thrilled to celebrate 25 years of giving back to the HIV and AIDS community with the return of Dining Out For Life,” ASA Executive Director Paul Scott told Austin.com. “We are so grateful to our new and returning restaurant partners and encourage all to dine out in support of this great cause.”
