Veterans Memorial Pool in Cedar Park

Hoping to spend some time in the water this Memorial Day weekend?  Most of the free pools in Austin aren’t open for the season yet, but plenty of splash pads and community pools are!

Community and municipal pools do charge admission, but a lot of them have some great amenities. Most also offer pool passes, which provide long term savings on admission fees.

We’ve rounded up links to several of the fun pools in Austin and beyond. Take note of opening dates, as some of the pools are NOT open for Memorial Day weekend.

Austin Municipal Pools

All of Austin’s municipal pools have the same fee structure: seniors and children age 1-11 are $1, kids age 12-17 are $2, and adults are $3. Non-residents add $1. Pool passes are also available.

    • Barton Springs Pool (2131 William Barton Dr) — Fed from underground springs, the pool remains a cool 68 degrees year-round and is one of Austin’s favorite swimming holes. The pool is currently open daily. Call the Barton Springs Pool hotline at 512-867-3080 to confirm the pool will be open when you’d like to go. Admission fees are charged from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Closed Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. for cleaning.

  • Deep Eddy Pool (401 Deep Eddy Ave) — What started out as a swimming hole fed from the Colorado River is now known as the oldest swimming pool in Texas. The pool is currently open daily. Entry fee is required March 8 through October 31, 2014.
