One thing Austin families can count on every summer is live music and fun galore at the weekly Children’s Day Art Park. From interaction with members of The Austin Symphony, who wander the crowds performing for children, to onstage jams by some of Austin’s most beloved children’s entertainers, it doesn’t get much better than these festive Wednesday mornings in the Symphony Square amphitheater.
For a mere 50¢ per child, kids can enjoy test-driving instruments at the instrument petting zoo, free balloons, bubbles, balloon animals, storytellers, magicians, clowns, free crafts, and face painting! There are often surprises, like free ice cream, too.
Make plans to attend Children’s Day Art Park on Wednesday mornings from June 10 – July 29, 2015 (excluding July 1), from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Gates open at 9 a.m.

Plan to arrive early to find the most convenient parking. After the headlining performance, which usually starts around 10 a.m., follow the Pied Piper across the street to the Art Tent, for crafts, stories, and more. Bring sunscreen and drinks because it gets hot out there, even that early in the morning. You may consider bringing a picnic along as well. Strollers are not permitted in the amphitheater. There is complimentary stroller parking available on the north side of Serrano’s.
Admission is 50¢ per child. Adults are free. For more information, visit here.
