Wednesday, April 22, 2015 marks the 46th annual celebration of Earth Day. Here are a few ways you can mark the occasion in Austin:

Green Storytime – Wednesday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m. Join Austin Public Library for books, rhymes, music and other fun activities with a focus on living green. FREE! APL – Old Quarry Branch, 7051 Village Center Dr, Austin.

Earth Day Fair – Wednesday, April 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Students for Sustainability will host a fair with a multitude of local groups and organizations ready to share sustainable ideas and practices with Earth Week attendees. Jo’s Coffee will have a table and will be giving out free coffee to anyone who brings their own cup. Bon Appétit will be giving away free cheese-less pizza on the lawn as part of their Low Carbon Diet Day. FREE and open to the public. St. Edward’s University, 3001 S Congress Ave, Austin.

Earth Day ATX Science Extravaganza – Wednesday, April 22 from 6-8:00 p.m. Art.Science.Gallery. is gathering Austin’s science-savvy organizations together for an epic science extravaganza. This event is intended to celebrate planet Earth by raising funds for the Sustainable Food Center’s new Teaching Apiary — an observation colony of honeybees that will be installed in the SFC Teaching Garden this fall–as well bringing awareness to the plethora of science and nature related spaces, organizations, lecture series, and events in central Texas. FREE but donations will be collected at the door. Earth Day Celebration – Wednesday, April 22 from 6-8:00 p.m. Local sustainable organizations will be on hand to discuss the work that they do in the community and provide a range of hands-on activities during this family-friendly celebration. FREE! APL – Carver Branch, 1161 Angelina St, Austin.

TreeHouse Earth Day – Saturday, April 25 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. TreeHouse is throwing a party! Bring the whole family. Austin Nature Day

Austin Nature Day – Saturday, April 25 from 12-4 p.m. Celebrate Austin Nature Day at the Austin Nature & Science Center. Bring the whole family to this fun, outdoor event to celebrate Earth Day and experience nature through hands-on activities. Enjoy a guided hike through the Zilker Preserve, examine insects up close, and visit the resident animals that call the Austin Nature & Science Center home. FREE! Austin Nature Day at Splash! by Barton Springs – Saturday, April 25 from 12-2 p.m. Celebrate Austin Nature Day at the Splash! Exhibit by Barton Springs Pool. The event will feature screenings of the Living Springs Documentary, a tour of Eliza Spring with a salamander biologist, hand-on activities for the young and the young at heart and more! FREE! Splash! Exhibit, 2201 Barton Springs Road, Austin.

Spring Fling – Sunday, April 26, from 12-3:00 p.m. Bring a picnic lunch (or buy one on-site), and a kite, to enjoy an afternoon of fun! FREE! Beverages, music, games, and crafts will be provided by the church. Please bring a non-perishable food item for the food pantry. Earth Day at the Springs

Mother Earth Day at the Springs – Friday, May 8 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. This Festival is designed for environmental awareness and fun, especially relating to Barton Springs and Barton Creek, with a special emphasis on water conservation. Every activity is made to ensure that kids from 4-13 years of age have a great time and an interactive learning experience. The event is completely FREE and open to kids of all ages. Families are welcome. Barton Springs, 2201 Barton Springs Rd, Austin.

Head to a Farmer’s Market Near You – There are local farmer’s markets happening all over town, 6 days a week!
