The weather may be messy this week but have faith, it will be beautiful once again. Are you needing a refresh on places to take the fam? Sit outside and enjoy some of the best local food options in Austin with these patios that are perfect for families of all ages to enjoy!

Top 5 Best Austin Restaurants with Outdoor Play Areas For Kids

Easy Tiger South Lamar  has a brand new kids play area. The Little Tiger Den is the perfect spot for kids to safely play and be outdoors. Remember when sourdough bread was a COVID household baking trend? You can buy their starter kit and give it a try. It even comes with directions! If you aren’t into making your own, they’ve got you covered with mouth watering breads, pastries, sausages, sandwiches, soups, salads, and pretzels. You can’t go wrong!

In the mood for local pizza? Shorties Pizza and Grinders have 100% Texas ingredients. They use local flour, olive oil, and stock the best local beers. The patio is perfect for a sunny day. They pride themselves on being friendly and I agree: they are the friendliest spot around and absolutely delicious!

Fresa’s on South First  is a go-to spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have limited seating options on their patio with reservations. Happy Hour runs Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. and the large kids menu makes it easy with options for everyone. Don’t forget to taste their churros and house made ice cream.

Feeling like a local burger?  Hat Creek Burger Co. has multiple locations, all with plenty of play space. The kid’s menu is fully customizable with options like chicken flashers, tiny hat burgers, hot dogs or grilled cheese. Adults love the salad selection and the fact that everything is made fresh to order. They serve specialty milkshakes and the best part is that they also come in kid sizes!

Tacos for every meal, am I right? Taco Deli on Burnet has the perfect patio to enjoy your tacos all day long.  I love their tag line, “Eat Great, Live Healthy,” almost as much as I love their signature Doña salsa. With fully customizable options, dietary restrictions are no problem. Flour, corn, vegetarian, vegan – you name it, they’ve got you covered.
