When digging through new music to feature, occasionally we run into a band that we don’t know how to accurately categorize, and Art Pop is one of them.
The group’s music combines indie rock and 80s cartoon-like noises to create something that sounds different than many of the recently discovered Austin bands. They released their most recent single, “Hey Hey!!”, late last year.
At nearly six minutes long, at times the song feels like an experimental jam session that can be deemed wildly successful when coming up with ideas for new music. While it might not suit everybody, we’re featuring “Hey Hey!!” for the adventurous Austinites out there.
