Alamo Drafthouse has been getting attention throughout national media for a Facebook post last week detailing their plans to create gender-neutral bathrooms at their new Mueller location that is under construction. Based on that feedback they’ve mocked up two versions and are asking for feedback on their Facebook page.
Version A emphasizes privacy, while version B emphasizes efficiency. There will also be two bathrooms across the hall that will have baby changing stations.
In the post Alamo Drafthouse founder/CEO Tim League notes that:
Also, I’d like to clarify one thing. There’s going to be a room of urinals, labeled as such, “urinals.” We’re not going to stop women from dropping trou and giving the urinals a go, but I really doubt that’s going to happen all that often. Were I to guess, I’d say 1 in 500. I assume most if not all women will opt for the stalls.
