Here’s absolutely everything you need to know about swimming at Cypress Falls!

Location and Hours:

Cypress Falls Swimming Hole is located in Wimberley, Texas at 1 Woodcreek Circle. Just about a 50 minute drive from Austin, this swimming hole is open everyday of the week, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The swimming area is on a first-come-first-serve basis, with no reservations required.

Admission Cost:

Admission cost for the swimming hole ranges from $6 to $8 depending on age, with kids up to four years old free. The swimming hole is located on the largest portion of Cypress Creek, so other water activities such as canoeing and kayaking are also available. Guests can bring their own boat or tube, or rent one for $3 to $10 per hour.

History:

According to the Lodge at Cypress Falls, the spring waters and large cliffs were used as a sacred ceremonial site by Native Americans before ever becoming a swimming hole. In 1949, the creek was dredged to create a wider swimming area for the resort. When dredging the creek, tons of artifacts were discovered!

Size:

The swimming hole is located in the largest part of Cypress Creek for the perfect dip during a hot Texas summer. Situated between two dams, the shallow areas are to the side and the deepest area in the middle. There is plenty of space to relax on the banks with a beach towel and chairs. The swimming hole is a great size as it not only features places to swim, but areas to canoe and kayak.
