CMT is bringing a jam-packed slate of free events to downtown Austin beginning Wednesday, March 29! The outdoor concerts, one-of-a-kind taping opportunities, and red carpet event all lead up to the CMT Music Awards, airing LIVE on CBS from the Moody Center on Sunday, April 2.
CMT Music Awards Week events in Austin include the following:
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 29
- CMT HOT 20 COUNTDOWN: LIVE IN AUSTIN (CMT Taping)
- Join CMT’s Cody Alan, Carissa Culiner and Marley Sherwood for a special taping of “CMT Hot 20 Countdown: Live in Austin” with appearances by CMT Music Awards co-hosts Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown, Russell Dickerson and Lonestar. Must be 18+ to attend. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

- 2023 CMT MUSIC AWARDS OUTDOOR STAGE (CMT Music Awards taping)
- Country superstars Carrie Underwood, Kane Brown + Katelyn Brown, Keith Urban and Tyler Hubbard will each take the stage for a special performance from the heart of downtown Austin to air as part of the 2023 CMT Music Awards.
- All fans must register in advance to be part of the audience here.

FRIDAY, MARCH 31
- CMT CROSSROADS: THE BLACK CROWES + DARIUS RUCKER (CMT Taping)
- Multi-platinum rock band The Black Crowes and three time GRAMMY® award-winning singer-songwriter Darius Rucker are set to headline the next installment of critically-acclaimed music series “CMT Crossroads.” Filming in front of a live audience in the heart of downtown Austin, fans have a one-of-a-kind opportunity to be a part of CMT’s longest-running music series.

- CMT BLOCK PARTY featuring DJ Cassandra, Hannah Ellis, Matt Koziol & William Clark Green
12 to 4 p.m. @ Congress Ave. & W 9th Street- Open to the public and fun for the whole family, this free two-day event, hosted by CBS Austin’s Trevor Scott, includes live music, artist meet-and-greets, free swag, games, and multiple chances to win tickets to the Moody Center for the 2023 CMT Music Awards on April 2nd. Saturday, enjoy an all-day DJ set from DJ Cassandra and performances from Hannah Ellis, Matt Koziol and William Clark Green. No pre-registration required.
- 2023 CMT MUSIC AWARDS RAM TRUCKS STAGE (CMT Music Awards taping)
- Rising country hitmakers Avery Anna, Chapel Hart, Jackson Dean, Lily Rose, Megan Moroney, and Nate Smith will headline the outdoor Ram Trucks Side Stage to air as part of the 2023 CMT Music Awards.

12 to 4 p.m. @ Congress Ave. & W 9th Street- The free two-day event continues on Sunday with an all-day DJ set from DJ Cassandra and performances from Angel White, Danielle Bradbery and Tiera Kennedy.
- LIVE! CMT MUSIC AWARDS RED CARPET and PRE-SHOW
- Leading into the 2023 CMT Music Awards LIVE on CBS, hosts Cody Alan, Carissa Culiner and Marley Sherwood welcome a steady stream of country music superstars as they arrive at country music’s only entirely fan-voted awards show! PLUS, country stars Midland and Jon Pardi are set to kick up the energy on the CMT Red Carpet with a live performance of their nominated song, “Longneck Way To Go.”
