Pitbull will play a free concert in front of the iconic UT Tower as part of University of Texas’ SEC celebration. The all-day party happening across the University of Texas campus takes place on Sunday, June 30.
“We are so excited to welcome the burnt orange faithful back to the Forty Acres to celebrate Texas with all of our traditions, pride and passion,” says Chris Del Conte, Vice President and Folger Family Athletics Director. “This is an amazing moment in time for the University, Athletics and the city of Austin as we join the SEC, and there’s no better way to celebrate than with a giant party.”

Pitbull’s performance caps off an action-packed day that begins at 1 p.m. The SEC Celebration will feature family-friendly interactive games and activities, a Ferris wheel, giant fun slide, Longhorns inflatable games, and more! The ceremony takes place at the UT Tower at 8:30 p.m. and will be followed by a fireworks show and rocking performance from Mr. Worldwide himself, Pitbull.
More Fun To Be Had
In addition to activities at the Tower, Main Mall and 21st Street, fans can experience the Forty Acres with more free activities at the University museums and centers. This includes the LBJ Presidential Library, Texas Science & Natural History Museum, and Blanton Museum of Art.
Also going on during the weekend’s big Celebration, WhatsApp and UT Austin to present a scavenger hunt that will take people through Texas traditions and history IRL. Fans can find clues via the Texas Longhorns WhatsApp Channel and share their adventures along the way.
