5 Free San Antonio Light Displays
The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW)
Walk, don’t run, through UIW’s twinkling trees! UIW’s annual Light the Way event takes place in late November, but the lights stay twinkling throughout the holiday season. You can drive or walk through this spectacular display for free making it a great option for a family night. Located at 4301 Broadway.
Travis Park
This downtown park is perfect for a night out. Their 50 foot Christmas tree is covered in handmade ornaments and over 10,000 lights, but that’s not all! Enjoy free move nights at the park this holiday season. For a little more exercise, give ice skating a shot right here in the park. Travis Park has also partnered with Sea World for a Holiday Loteria Hunt, where you can win amazing prize packs by finding the Loteria Cards that are hidden across downtown. Windcrest Light Up

This has been a tradition in San Antonio for over 60 years, and we are so happy to see that the tradition is staying alive.
River Walk
You can’t talk about San Antonio without mentioning the River Walk! Take a River cruise on one of the barges to really sit back and enjoy the Christmas lights, or walk around for a stunning display. From the bridges to the barges to all of the businesses in between, the River Walk combines the culture of San Antonio with the spirit of Christmas. Pro Tip: The River Walk can get a little busy and rowdy on the weekends, so escape the crowds with a weekday walk through!
Museum Reach Lights
If crowds aren’t your thing, the Museum Reach Lights may be exactly what you need! Located right next to the Pearl District, this spot is perfect for a family photo op and absolutely stunning! Enjoy the beautiful lights over the water, then head into the Pearl District for more Christmas cheer. Located at 303 Pearl Parkway.
