Update: Grade specific registration is now closed as so many people have registered that the buildings will be at capacity. There is, however, an “all ages” option still available. There are more than 50 “all ages” activities planned, so there will be plenty for everyone in that category. Last year, many never made it into the buildings as there were so many hands-on activities, demos and shows for the “all ages” students. Please click on the registration button below to register for the “all ages” activities.
Registration is now open for Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (Girl Day) at UT, which will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 2 – 5 p.m.
Students in first through eighth grade and their parents or educators are invited to UT for an afternoon of engineering fun. UT’s national award winning Girl Day, presented by the Women in Engineering Program (WEP), gives over 2,000 students a chance to have fun doing grade-specific, hands-on engineering activities, meet students, professors and engineers from the industry, and see what it’s like to be an engineer.
How it works:
Activities for 1st – 3rd graders, 4th – 5th graders and 6th – 8th graders are housed in UT’s engineering complex. Students are encouraged to create and experiment at their own pace with all of the age-appropriate activities in their specific building. There are no volunteers or guides to take students around to the activities, so parents, counselors, or teachers are expected to remain with students during the event.
