Following an Outdoor Family Campout in Old Settlers Park, Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department and Kids Outdoor Zone will celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day. All are invited to attend this free event on Saturday, September 27, 2014, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., even if they did not participate in the campout.
National Hunting and Fishing Day is a free family-oriented event that will feature fun and educational hands-on activities for all, including:
- Archery
- BB gun range
- Camping skills
- Sensory Safari Trailer
- Casting
Organizations such as Texas Parks and Wildlife, Austin Aquarium, Safari Club International, Texas Youth Hunting Program, Texas Trophy Hunters, Kids Outdoor Zone and other sportsman’s and conservation groups will also offer exhibits. There will be displays of hunting and fishing equipment and demonstrations of outdoor skills.
Introduce youth and newcomers to outdoor sports while teaching them about the important role that hunting and fishing play in Texas’ wildlife conservation programs.
