Founders Day Festival will return to the Dripping Springs historic downtown district April 22-24, 2016. A celebration of heritage and community spirit, the festival offers FREE admission for all!
This year’s celebration kicks off at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 22nd with the Mighty Thomas Carnival. A Grand Parade will follow at 6:30 p.m. on Mercer Street in downtown Dripping Springs. Bring a lawn chair and be prepared to cheer on the hometown themed parade, Destination Drippin’. Food and beer booths will open immediately after the parade and a street dance with headliner People’s Choice will rock the Main Stage starting at 7:30 p.m.
On Saturday morning starting at 10:30 a.m., festival-goers will enjoy the Carnival, kids’ activities, a maze of arts and crafts booths, non-profit organizations and business booths, cook-off competitions, tasty BBQ, traditional fair food, and live music and entertainment. A street dance on Saturday night with featured artists Carport Casanovas will start at 8:15 p.m. and Bobby Pounds Band will play at 10 p.m.
Sunday family fun will continue with a church service at 9 a.m., the Carnival and arts and crafts booths will open at 11 a.m., and beer and live music will start at noon. Wrapping up the weekend will be the Cook Off Awards and the hilarious Chicken Clucking contest at 2:30 p.m.
Admission to the festival is free. Pre-sale carnival tickets will be available by Friday, April 8th at Lone Star Capital Bank, Prosperity Bank, Dripping Springs Pharmacy, South Star Bank, Cedar Valley Grocery, Protech Automotive, and Dripping Springs City Hall. Tickets are $20 per sheet and include 40 tickets. At the carnival, they will be sold for $40. Pre-sale tickets are cash only.
