A new 1,354-acre county park is now open in Williamson County.
River Ranch County Park opened near Liberty Hill as the county’s largest park. Parkgoers can find a playground, pavilions, hiking trails, bike trails, horse trails and more at the park.
This will be an easy exploratory (stop and look) 3 to 4 mile hike. After the hike, we will go into Liberty Hill for lunch.
We’re starting early to avoid the heat so let’s start promptly at 8 AM. Please arrive by 7:45 AM. The park opens at 7:30 AM. I’ll pick the shadiest trail to hike on when we get there.
We’ll meet at the entrance to the park.
Fees for entering the park are $4 and $2 for those over 65.
Bring water, sun block and a broad brim hat.
Dogs are okay, but must be on a 6 foot leash. This is a park rule that must be followed.
