Beginning October 11th, the Georgetown Art Center is proud to present the opening of our newest exhibit ENTANGLED*: Coexistence in a Complex World.* This exhibit brings together the amazing work of two Texas artists, Virginia Headley Maserang and Samantha Melvin.
Virginia Headley Maserang describes herself as an abstract painter working in layers of luminous central Texas colors to create works that captivate and reveal new meaning with every view. *What I love as a painter I play with – color, texture, marks and symbols. I choose to work most often in the medium of encaustic.*
Samantha Melvin says she is fascinated with the dynamics of landscape and space. *My abstracted contemporary landscapes expand on the vibrant interactions of color and pattern. Nature provides me with an uplifting, colorful, and textured sanctuary.*
The exhibit will run from October 11th – November 15th, 2024, and is free to attend. There will be an opening reception on Saturday, October 12th from 4-6pm, and an artist talk on Sunday, October 13th at 2pm.
