The 2024 Solar Eclipse Watch Party for Buda – April 8
Buda Blackout is where the Buda community can come to view the rare total solar eclipse on April 8. Join us at the Buda Sportsplex, 310 Buda Sportsplex Drive in Buda from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your youngsters and your lawn chairs to view a phenomenon that last occurred in Central Texas hundreds of years ago. Park Department staff will be onsite to help direct attendees to the appropriate parking areas (general and ADA). [City Hall will close on April 8 from noon-3 p.m.]
What’s Happening at the Buda Blackout?
The eclipse starts at about at 12:15 p.m. with totality occurring at about 1:36 p.m.

Limited number of certified solar eclipse glasses will be for sale onsite
Pre-sale certified solar eclipse glasses may be purchased at Buda’s Welcome Center at 303 Main Street for $3 per pair with a limit of 2 pair per person.
