Silicon Hills can add another feather to its camp as publishing giant Conde Nast recently announced that it is adding Austin to its small list of digital offices, thanks to the amount of technology talent and tech companies in the area, reports Austin Business Journal. The publisher is based in New York and plans to open the digital media-focused Austin office in July and will employ as many as 50 locals, including software engineers and designers. Conde Nast publishes Vogue, Wired, and Vanity Fair, among others.
New tech employers coming to Austin is always a good sign for the local economy and another opportunity for the city to improve on its low rank on the list of cities that employs women in technology jobs.
