Chinatown Center is excited to ring in the Lunar New Year, The Year of the Goat! Austinites are invited to join in the fun at the Center’s free annual celebration on Saturday, February 21, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Chinese New Year festivities will include fun for kids, from free face-painting to firecracker displays. As always, the most anticipated entertainers, the Dragon and Lion Dance Teams, will perform throughout the day!
The schedule of events will kick off at 10 a.m. with an opening ceremony at the Chinatown Center pagoda. Cultural performances, including martial arts demonstrations, will continue throughout the afternoon, until 6 p.m.
Families will also enjoy a community resource fair, with a free magic show featuring Ronald McDonald at 2 p.m. Kiwi the Clown will offer free face painting at MT Supermarket from 12-4 p.m.
Free parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission to the community resource fair will be free, but some activities may have their own fees.
