Summer is finally here and we know you’re probably looking for ways to get your family out of the house. What better way to do just that than by spending time on one of the best Austin parks? Every Monday this summer we’re highlighting an Austin park and we’re kicking things off with Auditorium Shores!
Auditorum Shores
800 West Riverside Drive
Auditorium Shores is one of most well known parks in Austin and with good reason. Located in the heart of downtown, it’s the perfect place to spend the day. Auditorium Shores is often the locale for outdoor concerts, festivals, and other events. Other times, like now, it is a great open space to take the family to fly a kite, play a game of frisbee, let your dog roam freely, or have a picnic. There’s a splash pad for the little ones (though it’s currently coased) and a dog park for the furry ones.
Plus, you can snap a pic with the iconic Stevie Ray Vaughan Memorial statue, located along the south bank of Lady Bird Lake on the Hike-and-Bike Trail. Or simply take in the gorgeous view of the downtown skyline!
Don’t forget to bring along these items: water, sunblock, bug repellent, and snacks.
Please keep in mind that we’re still practicing social distancing and parks can get crowded at various times. Be prepared and be respectful of those around you.
