“Dress Shirts,” one of the latest songs from Austin rock group Honey and Salt, is one of the best singles we’ve heard this year from a local band. Beginning with a vivacious chorus with pop punk style riffs, the band breaks thing down in the middle of the song to play a creative chorus that involves furiously plucked guitar strings and a scattered drum beat. They then head back into the standard rock feel that the track began with. While “Dress Shirts” starts with a riff that plays things safe, Honey and Salt’s willingness to shake things up gives them and the song a different angle, making fans confident that they know how to appropriately spice up their tunes.
