Spring is in the air, and with it comes Austin’s concert season, packed with performances that you and your family won’t want to miss. What better way to celebrate than by taking your family to a concert that is timeless, fresh and free?
On Sunday, May 10, 2015, the Austin Civic Orchestra’s “Texas Rising Stars” concert will be held at UT’s Bates Recital Hall, one of Austin’s premiere music venues. The performance will feature four of the best and brightest musicians our city has to offer (and we know that’s saying a lot). The concert will be held in collaboration with UT’s Butler School of Music and we are thrilled to showcase the best they have to offer.
The four “Rising Stars” themselves are Chu Chu, Jihyun Kim, Christabel Lin and Hao Xing. As accomplished musicians, they have performed all around the world, from the Sydney Opera House to Beijing’s Great Hall of the People. During the “Texas Rising Stars” concert, the four soloists will be performing works from Wieniawski, Sibelius, Mozart and Barber. The concert will be closed by the Austin Civic Orchestra with Darius Milhaud’s, “La création du monde.”
It’s not everyday that we get a chance to see the great musicians of our time in their early stages, so be sure to catch these incredible performers while you can. Whether you are wanting to inspire your children to practice for their music lessons or impress your first date with your classy taste in music, the Texas Rising Stars performance is not one to miss. Check out more details and parking directions on the Austin Civic Orchestra website.
Part of our mission at ACO is to bring our community the best Classical Music that our city has to offer at an affordable price. Sticking with that mission, this performance is free and open to the public. Bring your family, friends or your first date, because this show is guaranteed to captivate its audience.
This project is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department.
