Comedy Central has just announced that “The Daily Show” will be filming a week of episodes in Austin just ahead of the mid-term elections, billing the tour through town, “Democalypse 2014: South by South Mess.”
The network announced the Austin shows in a press release dropped Tuesday morning. The shows will focus on the mid-term elections, hosted right in “indicted Governor Rick Perry’s home state” itself.
For anyone who’s appreciated Stewart’s coverage of Perry’s minor hassle with the law, these shows will very likely be a hell of a good time.
It will also be the first time a major talk show host has swung through the Texas capital and actually tossed some real barbs at Perry instead of inviting him on for a friendly chat, like Jimmy Kimmel did earlier this year. (No offense, Jimmy: Those were fun shows.)
Expect Stewart and company to grace the ZACH Theatre on South Lamar from October 27-30. Tickets will be made available through “The Daily Show” website, not the theatre’s box office.
Sadly, they’re not available yet — we totally checked. Annnnnd, they’re gone.
