One of Austin’s latest “buzz bands” is Los Coast, a group fronted by Georgia transplant Trey Privott. Their latest single, “Simplify,” is definitely a tune to blast that will give Austinites a new group to obsess over.
The band is continuing a successful Thursday night residency at C-Boys and has cemented a spot at the 2016 Austin City Limits (ACL) music festival. Claiming influences such as Otis Redding and Sam Cooke, songs such as “Simplicity” are steeped deep in soul and old time flavor, giving the track a spicy, but modern feel. The choir kicks things into high gear, too, making Los Coast a band to notice for their noteworthy playing abilities and their contagious musical spirit.
