Goodnight room. Goodnight moon. Goodnight cow jumping over the moon.” So goes the story that has been adored by children and their parents for generations. Goodnight Moon, the famous children’s book by Margaret Wise Brown, has made its way to the stage in Austin. ZACH Theatre has turned Bunny’s room into an enchanting musical adaption ideal for ages three and up.
Of course, we want everyone to be able to enjoy this treasured story on the stage, so we’re giving away tickets! Read on to find out how to enter to win.
Once the show begins, theater goers will feel as is they themselves have been transported to the Great Green Room. Expect everything you love about the book to come to life on stage. This means stunning puppetry, tap dancing bears, and even the chance to soar through the stars with a constellation light show. Our easily-distracted four-year-old critic stayed completely entranced throughout the one hour showing. It helped that the play is extremely interactive and will have the entire audience clapping, raising hands, and making chicken sounds on cue.
Our critic’s expert and matter-of-fact review post-showing was, “That was a good play.” Her parents were equally smitten. No matter your age, it’s hard not to become mesmerized when characters such as The Cat and the Fiddle, Clarabelle the Cow, The Dish with the Spoon and the Tooth Faerie are singing and dancing before your very eyes.
Watch the magic of this book come alive until May 27, 2018. Show times are 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays.
Tickets are $18 for youth and $24 for adults. Purchase online or by visiting the ZACH Theatre website.
