The Ultimate Guide For Where to Watch College Football in Austin

Block off your Saturdays for the foreseeable future because college football is back! While we are home to the University of Texas, we know there are all kinds of college football fans and alumni that call Austin home. And all those transplants are looking for the place they can come together with their fellow fans to root for their team.

If you do happen to be a Longhorn fan, you can check out this post on the best locations to watch UT football. If you happen to root for another team (and that’s OK), here’s where to watch the top 20 (and then some) college teams in Austin.

Alabama

Fans of the Crimson Tide show their Tide pride at Bufords (West 6th Street). In addition to watch parties, the Austin Bama Alumni host networking socials and Austin SEC Club activities. You can keep up with all their events and activities on their Instagram page.

Auburn

In past years, War Eagle fans flocked together at Local Post Pub, however, nothing is posted on their official Austin Auburn Club facebook page since they hosted an event at Salvation Pizza on Rainey Street in 2022.

Baylor

Baylor alumni, parents, and friends have cheered on the Bears in the past at Mean Eyed Cat (1621 West 5th Street). The university lists watch parties in cities all over the country here. Sadly, Austin seems to be missing from the list.

Central Florida

There no longer seems to be an official watch party for UCF in Austin either. According to the UCF alumni page in past years, fans of Central Florida gathered at Cover 3 Downtown (1717 West 6th Street). Austin is missing from the list this year.

Clemson

Tiger fans watch their team at Star Bar (West 6th Street). You can confirm the Austin Clemson Club’s party plans here.

Florida

Kung Fu Saloon (716 West 6th Austin) serves as the official swamp for Florida fans. Kung Fu Saloon will play every Gator game of the 2023 season and we will host five official Lone Star Gator Club watch parties, which will include Gator swag, drawings, and traditions for the following games:  More info can be found here.

Florida State

Whether you’re looking for a group to watch the football games with or wanting to network with Florida State alumni, the Austin Seminoles is your source for all things FSU in Austin. Seminoles gather at Key Bar (617 W 6th Street) to watch Florida State football.

Georgia

Green Light Social (720 West 6th Street) is now home to the official watch party location for the Georgia Bulldogs. You can keep up with the Austin Dawgs on their Facebook page.

LSU

The LSU Austin Alumni Association calls Shoal Creek Saloon (909 N Lamar Boulevard), as you would expect. In addition, Rustic Tap Beer Garden (613 W 6th Street) is hosts the tigers this year, as well.

Michigan

Join your local Wolverines by attending a Michigan game watch party at Cork & Barrel Pub (4000 E Palm Valley Boulevard, Round Rock). You can locate a Michigan alumni event in any area and connect with the Blue near you here.

Mississippi

Mississippi fans are meeting this year at Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (701 W 6th Street), according to the Austin Ole Miss Club page.

Mississippi State

The bulldogs once gathered at The Park on South Lamar (4024 South Lamar Boulevard) but it seems nothing is listed for an alumni group in Austin this year.
