Where to Take Mom for Mother’s Day in Austin – We Brunched Our Way to the Answer

People keep asking where to take Mom for Mother’s Day this year — and we get it. There’s a lot out there. But if you know Austin.com, you know we don’t do lists for the sake of it. We go. We eat. And then we talk about it.

We only recommend places we’ve actually tried. So here’s our real-deal list of four Mother’s Day brunches we think are totally worth it this year.

Here’s where to take Mom for Mother’s Day in Austin!

BOA Steakhouse
300 West Sixth Street, Austin

If you want a Mother’s Day that feels like a moment, this is it. From the second you walk into BOA, you’ll feel like everything is handled. The energy is calm, the design is sleek and the food… Let’s just say, Mom will definitely feel celebrated.

Boa Steakhouse

This year, they’re serving a $95 prix fixe brunch. Expect big favorites like lobster avocado toast, thick-cut bacon, mac and cheese (classic and lobster) and a carving station that smells like heaven. You can level up with oysters, caviar and a Wagyu tasting if you’re really feeling fancy.

We love how elevated it feels, without being fussy. It’s Mother’s Day done right. Reserve a table here: Austin | BOA

Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort
575 Hyatt Lost Pines Road, Cedar Creek

Sometimes, Mom just needs to get out of town. The Hyatt Regency Lost Pines is an easy getaway. It’s only about 30 minutes outside of Austin, but it’s peaceful, green and just the right kind of quiet. The new Riverbend Barn at Lost Pines is all rustic charm with wide-open spaces and Texas Hill Country calm.

While we haven’t had the full brunch buffet, we previewed the space and sampled the menu and it’s GOOD. We’re talking carved beef tenderloin, seafood displays, made-to-order pastas, plant-based sides and dreamy desserts. Plus, you’re greeted with a cocktail, which is the best way to start brunch.

Arriba Abajo Rooftop Cantina
506 San Jacinto Boulevard, Austin

Come for the view and stay for the food! Arriba Abajo sits above the Thompson Hotel and is hands down one of the most chill, scenic rooftops in town. The air is breezy, the design is bright and tropical and everything feels relaxed and warm.

We recommend starting with Ahi Tuna Noi Crudo, followed by Spicy Tuna Tostada (a little tuna-heavy, but no regrets). Finish up with their French Toast that’s thick, golden and not overly sweet. Pair all of this with a mimosa and margarita which are both on point.

It’s a little on the pricier side, but that rooftop view makes it more than worth it. Plus, the service is lovely. More info here: Menus | Arriba Abajo in Austin, TX

Lee’s Kitchen + Cocktails
701 South Capital of Texas Highway, Westlake

Located in Westlake, this spot offers something a littlle different — and we like it! Lee’s brings Vietnamese flavors into brunch in a way that feels exciting and totally Austin. Start with spring rolls and crispy chicken wings. Follow that up with the Chicken and Pandan Waffle. It comes out green (thanks to the pandan leaf) and full of flavor, topped with fried chicken and a drizzle of sweet-savory magic.

The cocktails are balanced and creative with everything feeling casual yet special.  It’s a little off the beaten path, but it’s worth the drive if you’re looking for something new.

The space is relaxed, the food is creative and the vibe is just really easygoing. Explore Lee’s here: Lee’s Kitchen + Cocktails.

So there you have it. Four inventive and uniquely Austin spots to take mom for Mother’s Day. No matter where you go, make it something Mom will love. And if it’s one of these? You’re golden.

Just promise us one thing—don’t forget a reservation. It’s no secret that Mother’s Day fills up fast!
