  1. Chalk Walk (Round Rock)FridayOctober 2 from 5–10 p.m. and Saturday, October 3 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Round Rock Chalk Walk is Round Rock Arts’ version of an Italian street painting festival. Artists are free to create, with chalk pastels, a picture on the pavement. Drawings are created in full view of the public, who are encouraged to interact with the artists as their amazing talents to create beautiful “murals” before their audience’s eyes. Entertainment includes FREE theatrical and musical performances. Chalk walk has been moved to Centennial Plaza, a large plaza where all art, booths, and performances are within easy walking distance. Festival de las Artes Latinoamericanas Friday, October 2 from 6:30–9 p.m. and Saturday, October 3, from 12–9 p.m. The Festival de las Artes Latinoamericanas Austin 2015 will bring a multicultural display of Cinematography, Theater, Literature, Music, Folklore, Graphic Arts (paintings and architecture), and gastronomic sampling from several countries, including México, Perú, Colombia, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Honduras, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and El Salvador. FREE! Emma S.   3. Movie in the Park: Spy Kids – Friday, October 2 at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy a FREE movie in the park! Popcorn will be served at 6:30 with the movie beginning at dusk.   5. Concert in the Park: The Space Rockers (Cedar Park) – Friday, October 2, from 7-10 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets as there will plenty of area available.   6. Texas French Market – SaturdayOctober 3 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The 175th Anniversary Celebration will have 50+ local arts and crafts vendors on the grounds of Austin’s oldest home. Shop local and support the French Legation Museum. Live music all day, food vendors, children’s activities, and museum tours. Kid and (leashed) pet-friendly.   7. Home Depot Kids’ Workshop: Build a Firetruck – Saturday, October 3, from 9 a.m. – noon. Kids can build a firetruck and take it home for FREE! Recommended for ages 5-12. Registration requested. Participating Home Depot locations.

Saturday Night Concert Series featuring Carson McHone (Bee Cave) – Saturday, October 3 from 7–9 p.m. Enjoy Saturday nights outdoors with live music, FREE kids activities, and great shopping. The music begins at 7 p.m. in the Hill Country Galleria’s outdoor amphitheater.   9. Free First Sunday at the Bullock Sunday, October 4 from 12-5 p.m. Enjoy FREE exhibition admission all day during Free First Sundays, held the first Sunday of every month. Families can explore The Story of Texas through three floors of exhibitions that showcase artifacts from around the state. Special family programs from 12-3 p.m. combine art creation, presentations by partner organizations, and gallery activities. It’s the favorite sport of millions of Texans.   10. Piñata Making Workshop – Sunday, October 4 from 1-4 p.m. Using papier-mâché, Mexic-Arte Museum educators will guide the public in the creation of sugar skull piñatas, inspired by the tradition of Calaveras (“skulls”) in Dia de los Muertos, which have been used in Mexico since the 17th Century. During the workshops, artisan Sergio Lejarazu will build a grand sugar skull float to be featured in the Viva la Vida parade. All artwork can be used alongside the sculpture in the Viva la Vida parade, as exhibited in the Piñata Graveyard on festival grounds. Participation is FREE and open to the public.
