  1. May the Fourth Be with You!
    Friday, May 4 | from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. | Yarborough Branch, Austin Public Library, 2200 Hancock Dr.
    This week’s Kids Create is all about Star Wars! Join for some Star Wars crafts and activities. They will show a few episodes of the show Star Wars Rebels starting at 3:30 p.m. Star Wars Rebels is rated TV-Y7 FV and is recommended for ages 7 to 12.
  2. The Greatest Showman Free Outdoor Screening
    Friday, May 4 | from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. | The Community Cinema at Community First! Village, 9301 Hog Eye Rd.
    Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to a FREE movie night at Community First! Village. Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screening of  The Greatest Showman. Get there as early as 6:30 to explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks. Hot dogs, milkshakes, popcorn, candy and drinks will be available for purchase (cash preferred). The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated.
  3. Movies in the Park – Cars 3 (Cedar Park)
    Friday, May 4 | from 8 to 10 p.m. | Elizabeth Milburn Park, 1901 Sun Chase Blvd, Cedar Park
    Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy Coco under the stars. Concessions will not be available, but you are welcome to bring a picnic. Glass containers are prohibited. Admission is free.
  4. RC Airshow – 5th Annual Ken White Scale & Warbird Event
    Friday, May 4 & Saturday, May 5 | all day | Austin Radio Control Association, 8705 Lindell Ln.
    Join the Austin Radio Control Association for their biggest airshow in 2018 and in Central Texas. The 5th Annual Ken White Scale & Warbird Event is a heart-pounding, adrenaline pumping spectator event that is second to none in Texas! FREE parking and FREE admission to the public.   5. Blair Woods Family Nature Day
    Saturday, May 5 | from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Blair Woods Sanctuary, 5401 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
    Join Travis Audubon for a morning of educational activities at Blair Woods Sanctuary, a natural oasis in east Austin! The theme of this Nature Day will be POLLINATORS, and will include guided walks, crafts, and other fun and family-friendly activities! This event is free and open to the public.
  6. Violet Crown Festival
    Saturday, May 5 | from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Brentwood Park, 6710 Arroyo Seco
    This art-filled festival is literally a walk in the park, with plenty of stops for music, food, shopping, and tons of free kids’ activities. Brentwood Park (6710 Arroyo Seco, access from Yates) is the setting for this beloved festival, and admission is free.
  7. Teddy Bear Clinic and Story Time (Pflugerville)
    Saturday, May 5 | from 12:30 to 2 p.m. | Pflugerville Public Library, 1008 Pfluger St. W, Pflugerville
    Bring your favorite stuffed animal or doll for a special check-up at a FREE Teddy Bear Clinic staffed by healthcare professionals from Baylor Scott & White Clinic-Pflugerville Central. The clinic will be held to familiarize participants on what to expect during their next doctor’s appointment.
  8. 11th Annual Brushy Creek Backyard BBQ Cook-Off & Festival (Round Rock)
    Saturday, May 5 | from 12 to 6 p.m. | Brushy Creek Community Park, 16318 Great Oaks Dr., Round Rock 
    Over 35 teams will be competing in the IBCA-sanctioned Brushy Creek Cook-Off. Try some Texas BBQ hot off the grill or stop be the food trucks for burgers, funnel cake, falafel and pizza. Enjoy live tunes all day. There is no entry fee for this event.
  9. 5th Annual Sunshine Run
    Sunday, May 6 | from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. | Vic Mathias Shores at Town Lake,  900 W. Riverside Dr.
    The fifth annual Sunshine Run sponsored by Silicon Lab will take place in the heart of downtown Austin. Funds raised from the race will benefit Austin Sunshine Camps making a positive difference in the lives of Austin’s low-income youth. Race activities begin at 7:30 a.m. and include a timed 10K, a timed and untimed 5K, a Kids K, and the Fastest Dog 5K. Kids are welcome to sign up for the 5K or 10K, or kids under 12 can run in the Kids K for free. It’s a fun, easy 1K race, parents can walk with their kids for free, and all participants receive ribbons. Dogs entering the race with their owners for the 5K will be entered to win the “Fastest Dog in Austin” competition.
  10. Girl Empowerment Story Time – Author Reading and Signing!

    As a former editorial model in New York, Milan and Paris, as well as America’s Next Top Model (cycle 8) contestant, B.C. Hatch is no stranger to people only focusing on her looks and disregarding everything else. After becoming a mother and raising her little girl on her own, Hatch’s mission became clear, she  wanted to encourage her daughter and other girls to embrace who they are rather than how they look. Thus “Beyond Pretty” was born, a book that will become a tool for her daughter and girls everywhere, to help empower them on their journey of self-discovery.

  • Lago Fest (Lago Vista)

    Asleep At The Wheel will headline Lago Fest and admission is FREE!  Start your coolest Lake Travis summer at Lago Fest, with music, fine arts, great Austin & Central Texas Food Truck eats, and a host of sailboats on the shores of Lake Travis at Lago Vista’s Bar-K Park.
