  1. Girls Rock Austin SX Day Party − Friday from Noon to 10:00 p.m. Girls Rock Austin is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering girls and women of all backgrounds and abilities through musical education and performance. Don’t miss their SX Day Party featuring live music by more than a dozen performers. In.Sessions − Friday from 2-8:00 p.m., Saturday from 1-8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 2-6:00 p.m. Escape the madness without escaping the beats with an awesome lineup of unplugged musicians live on in.gredients’ porch. Enjoy local craft beer, artisan snacks, and a playground for the kids while grooving to local and visiting artists. Day one will feature Austinite Brett Harris and visiting artist Elizabeth Devlin on the autoharp, followed by a hip hop showcase. Day two will feature a rad collection of local female artists. Pan Americana FestivalFriday and Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Brought to you by Bellas Artes Alliance, the Pan Americana Festival will host two days of multicultural arts and entertainment–including live music in a variety of Latino styles–showcasing our city’s diversity. FREE! ESB-MACC, 600 River St, Austin.
  4. Community Cinema: Superman – Friday at 7:00 p.m. Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy a special screening of Superman. Arrive early to explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy a family favorite on the big screen. Plus, stop by the Community Market to check out all the beautiful art and handcrafted products that Community First! residents make in the various micro-enterprise programs at the Village. Candy, popcorn, water, and sodas will be available for purchase (cash preferred). Concession sales and tips help Community First! friends who will be serving you to earn a modest living income.   5. Tunes + Tacos – Saturday from 8-11:00 a.m. Hat Creek Burger Co. and Whole Foods Market are partnering up to bring north Austin families a fun March music event alternative. Enjoy Hat Creek breakfast tacos, Cuvee iced coffee, kids’ activities, and music by Anthropos Arts outside of the Domain Whole Foods Market store.   6. Radio Controlled Airshow – Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Witness a truly amazing event in the world of radio controlled flying at the 2017 “Jet Lag” RC airshow. All kinds of turbine and electric powered radio controlled jet aircraft will be screaming through the air reaching speeds of 150+ mph and performing beautiful aerobatics and breathtaking high speed passes. Types of airplanes include military, civilian, and experimental. These are real jets and this is a great show for the whole family.   7. Celtic Festival – Saturday from 2-4:00 p.m. Celebrate the month of March with traditional Celtic music, crafts, and refreshments. All ages welcome. FREE! APL – Little Walnut Creek Branch, 835 W Rundberg Ln, Austin.
  8. Rock + Read – Saturday from 2-5:30 p.m. Families are invited to celebrate music and books at this year’s Rock + Read. Stop by the lawn between Dick’s Sporting Goods and Dillard’s for live music, readings by local children’s book authors, crafts, giveaways and lots of fun. FREE!   9. Nowruz FestivalSunday from 4-9:00 p.m. Experience Persian new year with Persian Dancers and special musical guests Atash, Bereker and the 1,001 Nights Orchestra. FREE! Central Market, 4001 N Lamar Blvd, Austin.
  10. Excused Absence Nights – Sunday at 5:00 p.m. In addition to family friendly improv, sketch, and stand up performances, the show will feature an Improv Jam.   • Texas Night Sky Festival (Dripping Springs) – Saturday from 2-10:00 p.m. Attendees will join in fun citizen science activities, learn from engaging speakers and exhibits, see examples of good lighting for their home or business, view school projects and competition entries focused on protecting the night sky, feast at the food trucks, take home a book or work of art inspired by the night sky, earn a related scouting badge, or explore the stars. The intent of the Festival is to increase the appreciation of the night sky and the world around us. Bring a chair or a blanket for the Star Party after dark.
