  1. Sandbank Shadow Factory Presents: The Legend of Walter Weirdbeard
    Friday, June 22 | at 12 p.m. | Austin Public Library – Yarborough Branch, 2200 Hancock Dr.
    Arrrrrrr is for reading in this seafaring tale! After much tragedy and travail on the high seas, the pirates finally find their fabled treasure, only to discover that the chest holds no gold, no silver, and no jewels! The treasure chest is filled, it turns out, with musty old books! Mutiny and mayhem erupt on board the ship, and Captain Weirdbeard must think quickly to save his own life.

    Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to a FREE movie night at Community First! Village. Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screeningGet there early to explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks. Hot dogs, milkshakes, popcorn, candy and drinks will be available for purchase (cash preferred). The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated.
  3. Psalm 19 Astronomy Society
    Friday, June 22 | from 8:30 to 11:45 p.m. | Pedestrian Bridge – part of the Austin Hike and Bike Trail going over Lady Bird Lake just east of S. Lamar Blvd. near downtown Austin
    Psalm 19 Astronomy Society is an educational sidewalk astronomy ministry with the mission to share the beauty and majesty of God’s universe through astronomy. They seek to demonstrate that there can be harmony between God’s World, the universe, and God’s Word, the Bible, since God is the creator of both. Based on Psalm 19:1-2 written by King David about 3000 years ago. In this session, the focus is on the Moon, Jupiter, Saturn, and Venus.
  4. Bloodfest 7s Tournament (Round Rock)
    Saturday, June 23 | All Day | Round Rock Multipurpose Complex, 2001 N Kenney Fort Blvd., Round Rock
    Bloodfest 7s is a rugby tournament hosted every June and has been around since June 21, 1998, making this is the 21st annual tournament. For 2018, it’s happening at a brand new state-of-the-art facility in Round Rock, called the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex. Tournament registration is underway and the Bloodfest Sevens Tournament is poised to host more than 80 teams in nine brackets—including the reintroduction of Men’s and Women’s Super Social division, and the first ever Bloodfest High School Girls bracket. Admission to the Bloodfest Sevens Tournament is free for any spectators.
  5. The Cooking Light & Health Fit Foodie Festival

    The Fit Foodie Festival & 5K celebrates the balance of a delicious, healthy and active lifestyle as you eat your way to the finish line with bites along the course, then celebrate at the post-run Food and Fitness Festival. The festival rewards you for making healthy choices with tastes from local restaurants, beer and wine gardens, mini-workout classes, cooking demonstrations, and more.

    Austin Makers Collective, in collaboration with Fair Market and Jo’s Coffee, presents Austin’s all new indoor makers market. “Shop small” from handmade and vintage vendors in the comforts of a beautiful indoor space. Play with the kids on the outdoor lawn, support your favorite local artists, enjoy tasty treats from Jo’s Coffee & local food trucks. FREE and open to the public.
  8. Family Sunday Funday at Backyard at Waller Creek ($5 for adults)

    School’s out for summer, and backYARD at Waller Creek has just the fun the kids will love! On the last Sunday of every month of summer (May 27 through August 26), join backYARD for Family Sunday Funday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The expansive backYARD lawn space will be transformed into the ultimate playground, complete with a bounce house, YARD games like Jenga, yard tic tac toe and cornhole, a balloon maker, face painter, magician as well as live music from local talent. Tickets to Family Sunday Funday at backYARD at Waller Creek are free for kids ages 12 and under, and $5 for adults with backYARD’s full SundayBrunch menu available to order.   10. Hartman Foundation Concerts in the Park
    Sunday, June 24 | from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. | Long Center, 701 W. Riverside Dr.
    These free ensemble concerts take place at the Hartman Concert Park in front of the Long Center City Terrace, and each Sunday a different ensemble of the ASO will be featured. A variety of music will be performed, from jazz and light classical to pops selections and film scores. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and blanket and make it a group outing.
