Screen Shot 2015-06-11 at 9.37.07 PM Something for Nothing Presents Henry the Fourth Part 1 – Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13 at 8 p.m. Shake out your picnic blankets for a night of Shakespeare under the stars. William Shakespeare’s Henry the Fourth will be performed with minimal props, costumes, and lighting, focusing on storytelling and the rich language of Shakespeare. Performed by a cast of 12 actors, most portraying multiple roles, Henry the Fourth concludes at a brisk two hours. FREE! Ramsey Park, 4301 Rosedale Ave, Austin.

Metz Movies Under the Stars: Dr. Doolittle – Friday, June 12 at dusk. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks to enjoy an outdoor movie at Metz every Friday at dusk. Free popcorn and drink at every showing. Free Admission to the LBJ Library – Saturday, June 13, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. “Ladies and Gentlemen…The Beatles!” opens at the LBJ Presidential Library on Saturday, June 13th. Opening day festivities include FREE admission, live music by The Eggmen, and local food trucks (Hog Wild BBQ, Jim-Jim’s Water-Ice, Good Times Ice Cream Austin, Burro Cheese Kitchen, and mmmpanadas)! LBJ Presidential Library, 2313 Red River Street, Austin.

The Domain’s Taste of North Austin – Saturday, June 13, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Restaurants from The Domain and North Austin are teaming up again for Taste of North Austin for the 8th annual all-day family food festival, featuring delectable tastes, beverage sampling, free live music by Dysfunkshun Junkshun, children’s entertainment, and shopping! FREE admission to enjoy the live music and children’s entertainment; taste bands cost $20 for 10 tastes.   7. Free Movie at the Bullock Museum: The Painting – Saturday, June 13 at 2 p.m. All summer long, the Bullock Museum is presenting a bi-weekly Summer Free Family Series. These programs are free and open to the public. On June 13, the Museum will screen The Painting. A château, flowering gardens, a threatening forest, here is what, for mysterious reasons, a Painter has left incomplete. Three kinds of characters live in this painting: the Toupins, who are entirely painted, the Pafinis, who lack a few colors, and the Reufs, who are only sketches. Considering themselves superior, the Toupins take over power, chase the Pafinis from the château, and enslave the Reufs. Convinced that only the Painter can restore harmony by finishing the painting, Ramo, Lola, and Plume decided to go looking for him. Throughout the adventure, questions will follow one after the other: What has become of the Painter? Why did he abandon them? Why did he begin destroying some of his paintings? Will they one day know the Painter’s secret? Although this screening is FREE, each attendee should get a ticket from the front counter prior to making their way to the Spirit Theater. Bullock Museum, 1800 N. Congress Avenue, Austin.
  8. Young Adventurers Film Series: James and the Giant Peach – Saturday, June 13 at 3 p.m. The Harry Ransom Center, in conjunction with the current exhibition “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,” presents FREE family-friendly film screenings on Saturdays through the month of June. The Ransom Center’s Charles Nelson Prothro Theater has limited seating.   9. Music for Kids: Sara Hickman – Sunday, June 14 at 2 p.m. Please join the ATX Music Office and Austin Public Library as they present MUSIC FOR KIDS, with special guest Sara Hickman. This event is FREE and open to the public. Austin Public Library, Faulk Branch, 800 Guadalupe Street, Austin.
  10. Austin Symphony’s Hartman Foundation Concerts in the Park – Sunday, June 14 at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a FREE concert featuring Woodwinds music. See the program. Long Center City Terrace, 701 W. Riverside Drive, Austin. Canceled due to the weather.

  • Cabela’s Kids Day (Buda) – Saturday, June 13, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Head to Cabela’s in Buda for FREE activities for the entire family. Cabela’s is partnering with the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation for its biggest annual kids event that will feature a catch-and-release fishing pond, a Daisy BB gun range, youth archery, treasure hunting with metal detectors and more.   • Maker Pfest (Pflugerville) – Saturday, June 13, from 2-4 p.m. Join local artists and makers at the Library’s first Maker Pfest! Enjoy demos from the Central Texas Droids R2D2 Builders Club, Class Bytes Raspberry Pi Computing, the Connally High School Robotics Team, Learning Fun 101 Lego Robotics, the Pflugerville Quilt Guild, the Pflugerville Library Pfnitters, costumer Jim Conditt, and painter Megan B.   • Saturday Night Concert Series at Hill Country Galleria (Bee Cave) – Saturday, June 13 at 7 p.m. Enjoy a FREE performance by Parker McCollum.   • Second Saturdays for Families: Stringy Art – Saturday, June 13, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Every second Saturday of the month, The Contemporary Austin offers hands-on art-making workshops at Laguna Gloria, inspired by the exhibitions on view. This month’s project is Stringy Monsters: Make a creature from another planet, a movie-worthy monster sculpture, or just a friendly new pal using silly string and wire. Be prepared to make a mess!
