  1. Alamo Kids Camp – Friday, June 13, Saturday, June 14, and Sunday, June 15. Showtimes vary. See Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole at Alamo Slaughter Lane (5701 W. Slaughter Lane, Austin), Mary Poppins at Alamo Drafthouse Village (2700 West Anderson Ln, Austin) or Space Jam at Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline (14028 N US Hwy 183, Bldg F, Austin). All Alamo Kids Camp screenings are FREE! Tickets are available at the box office on the day of the show, and seating is first come, first served. Only children age 3 and up are permitted to attend.
  2. Austin Handbell Ensemble Spring Concert – Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14 at 7:30 p.m. Explore the many facets of glorious luminescence and study “Light & Might” with the Austin Handbell Ensemble. Find out why handbells aren’t just for the holidays. Admission is FREE, but donations are graciously accepted. Friday’s concert will be at Lake Travis United Methodist Church, 1502 RR 620 N, Austin. Saturday’s concert will be at St. John’s Episcopal Church,11201 Parkfield Drive, Austin.
  3. Romeo and Juliet (Round Rock) – Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14 at 8 p.m. Performances take place in the amphitheater of the Centennial Plaza. Audiences are welcome to bring their own food and drink, or to purchase snacks from the concessions tent. Recommended for middle school ages and up. Arrive early for a pre-show, starting at 7:30 p.m. The play begins at 8 p.m. FREE, but donations are appreciated. Round Rock Amphitheater, 301 W Bagdad Ave, Round Rock.
  4. Movies in the Park (and Pool!) – Choose a FREE outdoor movie near you:
    • Movies at the Pool: Jaws – Friday, June 13 at 5 p.m. Bring your whole family to lie out on blankets under the night sky. Food trucks available from 5-8 p.m. Jaws begins at dusk. Rated PG. FREE and open to everyone. El Salido Pool, 11500 El Salido Parkway Austin. 
    • Friday Night Films: Meatballs – Friday, June 13 at 8 p.m. Alamo Drafthouse presents Meatballs on the lawn at South Shore District. Rated PG. Dinner and snacks will be available for purchase from some of Austin’s favorite food trailers. FREE! South Shore District, 1333 Shore District Dr, Austin.
    • Movies in the Park: Despicable Me 2 (Kyle) – Friday, June 13, 30 minutes after sunset. The City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department has a movie screen that is 20′ wide by 12’6″ tall and measures 282″ diagonally! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and snacks. Rated PG. FREE!     • Movies in the Park: Despicable Me 2 (Hutto) – Friday, June 13 at sundown (about 9 p.m.). Bring your chairs, blankets, coolers and popcorn and enjoy a movie under the stars. FREE! Fritz Park, 400 Park St, Hutto.
  5. Bubblepalooza – Saturday, June 14, from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Bubblepalooza returns for its third year! Families are invited to spend time on the City Terrace and front lawn enjoying live music, chalk art, water fun, and (of course) tons of bubbles at this annual celebration of open play. This year there will be even more fun with a special appearance by ERTH’s Dinosaur Petting Zoo’s T-Rex! FREE! City Terrace, Long Center, 701 W. Riverside Drive, Austin.
  6. World Refugee Day – Saturday, June 14, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday is World Refugee Day across the globe and the Austin celebration will be held at the Bullock Texas State History Museum with an official naturalization ceremony and children’s activities that will focus on learning about the journey of a refugee. The festival includes free food, world music — marimba and interactive drumming — and a naturalization ceremony at noon. FREE and open to the public! Call (512) 936-4649 for more information.   7. Puppet Show Celebrating Fathers – Saturday, June 14 at 11:30 a.m. Crafty puppeteers will be celebrating all the things that make our dads the coolest and most lovable guys around. They’ll be performing the story Are the Dinosaurs Dead, Dad?. Make sure to arrive early so you get a good seat! The show begins at 11:30 a.m. FREE! BookPeople, 603 N. Lamar, Austin.
  8. Juneteenth Celebration – Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Reenactments, festivities, games, music, refreshments, and a Juneteenth Marketplace. Hear stories from the Texas Slave Narratives and listen to General Granger read the Third Command that freed Texas slaves. The schedule includes a reading of Ancestor Tree in the Museum Store (followed by tree craft for kids) at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., performances by Kyia Johnson and Detour from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., an AISD Bands Performance at 3:30 p.m., and games all day!   9. Austin Symphonic Band: Father’s Day in the Park – Sunday, June 15, from 7:30 – 9 p.m. ASB celebrates your dad with this annual concert at the Zilker Hillside Theatre. Marches, patriotic melodies, and other familiar works are the order of the day – selections that will have Dad’s toe tappin’ – as well as your own (program here). Bring a picnic basket and spread out a blanket under the pecan trees. FREE! Zilker Hillside Theatre, 2201 Barton Springs Rd, Austin.
  10. Austin Symphony Hartman Foundation “Concerts in the Park” – Sunday, June 15 at 7:30 p.m. Each Sunday, a different ensemble of the Austin Symphony will be featured at the Hartman Park, located on the grounds of the Long Center, performing music from jazz and light classical to pops selections and film scores. For Father’s Day, you can enjoy Big Band music (program here). Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and blanket and make it a group outing. FREE parking will be available at One Texas Center, located on Barton Springs Rd. at S. 1st Street.
