  1. First Responders Day at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf
    Friday, July 6 | from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Galleria, 13376 N. Hwy 183
    The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Texas is honoring brave firemen and police officers of Austin at its First Responders Day event. This event supports The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf’s “Heroes at Heart” campaign, featuring exclusive limited-edition coffee & tea blends to raise funds for 100 Club of Central Texas and donations to local first responders. All First responders will receive a free bag of “Heroes at Heart” coffee or tea and personalized messages from the community. Guests will enjoy complimentary cold brew and ice tea, games and raffle prizes, an appearance from Mr. Ice Blended, and the 100 Club of Central Texas will have a firetruck display on site for the family to enjoy. All members of the community are welcome.
  2. Star Wars The Force Awakens Free Outdoor Screening
    Friday, July 6 | from 8 to 11 p.m. | The Community Cinema at Community First! Village, 9301 Hog Eye Rd.
    Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to a FREE movie night at Community First! Village. Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screeningGet there early to explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks. Hot dogs, milkshakes, popcorn, candy and drinks will be available for purchase (cash preferred). The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated.
  3. Movies in the East – The Lion King
    Friday, July 6 | at 8 p.m. | Easton Park, 7000 Cardinal Bloom Loop
    Take your blankets and lawn chairs to Bryant Park and enjoy a film under the stars during the Movie in the East series. Glass containers are prohibited. Admission is free. All movies start at dusk.
  4. 60th Anniversary Zilker Summer Musical: All Shook Up
    Friday – Sunday, July 6 – 8 | from 8:15 to 10:45 p.m. | Zilker Park Hillside Theater, 2100 Barton Springs Rd.
    This summer, ZTP journeys back to the 1950’s — the era of the first Zilker Summer Musical — with the Elvis-inspired All Shook Up! And it wouldn’t be a true Elvis-style party without some blue suede shoes. All Shook Up, set in 1950’s Middle America, is a new twist on on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. The ZTP Team can’t wait to share this toe-tapping, hip-shaking musical comedy – featuring 24 Elvis hits – as well as lots of laughs, love songs and leather jackets. Free admission.
  5. Summer Kid Series
    Saturday, July 7 | from 1 to 3 p.m. | Austin Humane Society, 124 W. Anderson Ln.
    The youngest animal lover in your life has more reason to celebrate this summer, as our Summer Kids Series gets underway. 2018 marks six years for the family favorite that allows kids to get hands on as they learn more about the world of animals and the Austin Humane Society. Along the way they’ll find out what it means to care for a pet of their own and be inspired to help animals in need. This week’s session is teddy bear surgery for ages 8 and younger.
  6. Cinema SaturdayBlack Panther
    Saturday, July 7 | from 1:30 to 4 p.m. | Carver Museum, 1165 Angelina St.
    This will be an active day with film, food, and dialogue for the entire family. The day features two screenings: the first for youth at 1:30 p.m. and the second for adults at 4:30 p.m. Please RSVP. Both screenings are free and open to the public. Concessions will be sold.
  7. Amazon’s Treasure Truck Free Outdoor Screening
    Saturday, July 7 | at 6 p.m. | Republic Square, 422 Guadalupe St.
    Movie fans will enjoy an evening of free entertainment under the stars, complete with films, popcorn, giveaways, activities and entertainment for all ages, available on a first-come, first- served basis. Fox Searchlight’s Isle of Dogs screens on Saturday, July 14. Gates open at 6 p.m., with activities and entertainment for all ages. Movies are scheduled to begin at 8 p.m., light permitting.
  8. Movie Moxie Family Trivia for Hotel Transylvania 3
    Sunday, July 8 | from 1 to 2:30 p.m. | Barrel O’ Fun, 1911 Aldrich St.
    Get ready for the release of HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3: SUMMER VACATION with a special edition of Movie Moxie, for Kids! Bring the whole family and test your cinema knowledge, specifically your HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA knowledge! This trivia game designed by the folks at MOVIE MOXIE Game Show is a free, all-ages show for teams of 2-4.

    Sunday, July 8 | from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Fair Market, 1100 E, 5th St.
    Austin Makers Collective has partnered with Fair Market and Jo’s Coffee to host a highly curated indoor market this summer! Spend time sipping on a beer or iced coffee from Jo’s, shopping the highly curated lineup of art, showing love to the live artists, playing with lovable pets and enjoying your Sunday in the shade. ATX Goat Yoga will also be holding classes from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.! Visit their Facebook page to grab a spot in class!

  10. Hartman Foundation Concerts in the Park
    Sunday, July 8 | from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. | Long Center, 701 W. Riverside Dr.
    These free ensemble concerts take place at the Hartman Concert Park in front of the Long Center City Terrace, and each Sunday a different ensemble of the ASO will be featured. A variety of music will be performed, from jazz and light classical to pops selections and film scores. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and blanket and make it a group outing.

  • Pokemon Hike (Lockhart)
    Saturday, July 7 | from 9 to 10:30 a.m. | Lockhart State Park, 2012 State Park Rd., Lockhart
    Join to explore some real-life critters that transform as they grow up! Just as Caterpie changes into Butterfree, so does a monarch caterpillar change into a monarch butterfly.
