  1. The Greatest Showman Free Outdoor Screening

    Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to a FREE movie night at Community First! Village. Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screeningGet there early to explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks. Hot dogs, milkshakes, popcorn, candy and drinks will be available for purchase (cash preferred). The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated.
  2. 60th Anniversary Zilker Summer Musical: All Shook Up
    Friday, July 27-29 | from 8:15 to 10:45 p.m. | Zilker Park Hillside Theater, 2100 Barton Springs Rd.
    This summer, ZTP journeys back to the 1950’s — the era of the first Zilker Summer Musical — with the Elvis-inspired All Shook Up! And it wouldn’t be a true Elvis-style party without some blue suede shoes. All Shook Up, set in 1950’s Middle America, is a new twist on on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. The ZTP Team can’t wait to share this toe-tapping, hip-shaking musical comedy – featuring 24 Elvis hits – as well as lots of laughs, love songs and leather jackets. Free admission.

    Friday Night Flix returns on July 27 with everyone’s favorite high school musical, Grease! The movie will begin at 8:30 p.m., sharp. Get there early and enjoy a classic burger with fries and a soft drink for just $5 in the Water Trough Bar! RSVP for FREE for a chance to win some great prizes, including a complimentary night’s stay at Lone Star Court!
  4. Lady Bird Day at Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
    Saturday, July 28 | from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, 4801 Lacrosse Ave.
    Enjoy activities and free admission in honor of our Environmental First Lady. Each year, the Wildflower Center honors our namesake and co-founder and all that she did for our nation’s treasured environment on Lady Bird Day. You are invited to celebrate Mrs. Johnson’s environmental legacy and the legislation that she inspired. With her influence, President Johnson’s administration enacted more than 200 environmental laws with lasting national and local impact, including the 1965 Highway Beautification Act.
  5. Summer Block Pool Party

    The East Communities YMCA is opening their doors, inviting the neighbors, and heating up the grill for an after-hours community pool party this summer at our interactive splash pool! Go swimming, play in the sprays and water falls, and take some rides down our two large water slides! Free snacks will be provided! These events are FREE and open to all.
  6. Summer Reading Finale: Magic Show

    Celebrate your summer reading success with Cody Fisher’s “I Love to Read” magic show! All ages are invited to attend. Please register.
  7. Family Sunday Funday at  backYARD at Waller Creek
    Sunday, July 29 | from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. | backYARD at Waller Creek, Waller Creek between 5th and 8th St. 
    On the last Sunday of every month of summer (May 27 through August 26), join backYARD for Family Sunday Funday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The expansive backYARD lawn space will be transformed into the ultimate playground, complete with a bounce house, YARD games like Jenga, yard tic tac toe and cornhole, a balloon maker, face painter, magician as well as live music from local talent. Tickets to Family Sunday Funday at backYARD at Waller Creek are free for kids ages 12 and under, and $5 for adults with backYARD’s full SundayBrunch menu available to order.
  8. Bring the Sing Family Karaoke

    Calling all future Bellas and their embarrassing parents! Join for a free all-ages karaoke party on the last Sunday of every month. Take over the Barrel O’ Fun for onstage karaoke with a full catalog of songs. They’ll have props to take it to the next level and onstage challenges for the very brave of heart. If you’ve dreamed of being in PITCH PERFECT or killing it at the school talent show, this party is for you. Kids 13 and under must be accompanied by a parent but teens are welcome to come solo.   9. Amazing Chemistry Experience

    This isn’t what your high school chemistry class looked like! Adults and kids will have a blast learning about science and the love of Christ through interactive experiments and an engaging stage production.
  10. Hartman Foundation Concerts in the Park
    Sunday, July 29 | from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. | Long Center, 701 W. Riverside Dr.
    These free ensemble concerts take place at the Hartman Concert Park in front of the Long Center City Terrace, and each Sunday a different ensemble of the ASO will be featured. A variety of music will be performed, from jazz and light classical to pops selections and film scores. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and blanket and make it a group outing.

  • Solar Arts and Crafts (Lockhart)
    Saturday, July 28 | from 2 to 3 p.m. | Lockhart State Park, 2012 State Park Rd., Lockhart
    Explore our nearest star and create sun-powered crafts! Observe the sun’s surface (safely) through a telescope and learn about its amazing attributes! Then create some art with help from the sun’s energy. All ages welcome.
    Wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes. Bring binoculars and a field guide, if you have them. Materials will also be available to borrow on a first-come, first-served basis. Regular park entrance fees apply ($3/adult, free for children 12 & under).
