  1. Baby Day
    Friday, February 8 | from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. | The Thinkery, 1830 Simond Dr.
    Join First3Years and Thinkery on February 8 for Baby Day! Baby Day, the first ever statewide celebration of the first three years. Baby Day is a time for families to come together and celebrate this incredible period of growth and brain development in our tiniest Texans. The day kicks off at 10 a.m. and concludes at 5 p.m. This event will feature baby friendly activities such as baby yoga, music class, story time, sensory play, free giveaways, and more! Children 2 and under get in Free!
  2. Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again Free Outdoor Screening
    Friday, February 8 | from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. | Community Cinema & Amphitheater, 9301 Hog Eye Rd.
    Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to a free movie night at our Community First! Village.
    Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screening. Explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks from the Community Grille. Burgers, french fries, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase (cards and cash accepted!). The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated.
  3. Family Movie Night – Small Foot (Round Rock)

    Family Movie Night – get comfy to watch the movie, bring chairs, blankets and pillows. We’ll have snacks and GOE Spirit wear for sale. Admission is free!
  4. Strawbitty Yops Kids Concert
    Saturday, February 9 | from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. | The Hive Austin, 10415 Old Manchaca Rd.
    Get the kiddos ready for some Strawbitty fun!!! Cindy Haws, Woody Hill and Jimmie Estrada have been performing together for over a decade. They have combined their stage performance experience and love for silliness with a desire to create a fun musical experience for the wee ones.
  5. Family Saturday – Let’s Rock!
    Saturday, February 9 | from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. | Contemporary Austin at Laguna Gloria, 3809 W. 35th St.
    Make a stone-tastic work of art inspired by a hefty rock sculpture at Laguna Gloria, then boogie outside to catch a groovy performance by the School of Rock! Workshop free with reservation. Reserve your spot on-line beginning February 1. Thank you to H-E-B for supporting our free family programs.
  6. Sing & Shout For Kids (Round Rock)
    Saturday, February 9 | from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. | Calvary Apostolic Chruch, 2701 Sam Bass Rd., Round Rock
    Sing & Shout for Kids! is a faith-based interactive kids program teaching life lessons and good   values using action songs, demonstrations, skits with our loveable characters, and PUPPETS! Kids ranging in age from small toddler to pre-teen will fall in love with Maggie, Jack, Cordelia, Eggmont and all the other characters as they get into all sorts of shenanigans! Lots of music and loads of laughs with this crazy crew! The show also includes a BLACK LIGHT puppet show and prizes!! Come get silly with us EVERY SECOND SATURDAY of the month! Program length is approximately one hour, followed with cookies and drink or other type of treat/snack. Your kids are sure to beg to come back! This event is FREE and open to the public!
  7. Darwin Day Austin
    Saturday, February 9 | from 12 to 5 p.m. | JJ Pickle Research Campus, Commons Learning Center, 10100 Burnet Rd.
    The Center for Inquiry-Austin presents a FREE event to celebrate the 210th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth. There will be something for everyone—fun learning activities for children and teens, fascinating lectures and trivia contest for adults, professional development credit for teachers, and BIRTHDAY CAKE!! There will be live bats, insects, microscopic organisms, and giant vertebrate paleolithic fossils. Dig for your own fossils and make your own catapult! Science talks for adults and children as well as arts and crafts for young children.
  8. Barbara Jordan Exhibit
    Sunday, February 10 | from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. | Texas State Capitol Rotunda North Central Gallery, 1100 Congress Ave.
    To highlight the works of one of the most impactful African-American female leaders in our history, the Barbara Jordan Freedom Foundation will display an interactive exhibit of Barbara Jordan’s life at the Texas Capitol. From Sunday, February 10 to Saturday, February 16, the exhibit will stand on the ground floor of the Texas Capitol Rotunda North Central Gallery. As always, the exhibit is free and open to the public. The displays are created from the archive housed at Texas Southern University, Barbara Jordan’s alma mater, with contributions from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, where she was a professor for 17 years.
  9. The Rise of Everyday Design: The Arts and Crafts Movement in Britain and America
    Sunday, February 10 | from 12 to 5 p.m. | Harry Ransom Center, 300 W 21st St.
    Extraordinary drawings, sketches, photographs, art objects, and handcrafted furniture offer a new and detailed look at the history of the Arts and Crafts movement in Britain and America. Discover how this innovative design movement transformed the homes and lives of ordinary people and how it continues to influence modern design. Open daily with tours every day at noon. Free admission.
  10. 17th Annual ATJS Jazz Jam
    Sunday, February 10 | from 1 to 5 p.m. | Cap City Comedy Club, 5707 N Dunlap Rd.
    One of our most popular concerts of the season is our Annual Free Jazz Jam. Last year was so much fun with so many new musicians taking part. If you are a jazz musician and would like to play at the concert, you can sign up at the door or contact us in advance at [email protected]. Swing Dancing | Full Bar | Great Menu | Family Friendly. Admission: Free for everyone. Suggested minimum: 2 items, food or drink), 2 dance floors, and ample free parking. The hall holds up to 300 people — lots of room for all! ATJS concerts are family friendly.
