The Center for Inquiry-Austin presents a FREE event to celebrate the 210th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth. There will be something for everyone—fun learning activities for children and teens, fascinating lectures and trivia contest for adults, professional development credit for teachers, and BIRTHDAY CAKE!! There will be live bats, insects, microscopic organisms, and giant vertebrate paleolithic fossils. Dig for your own fossils and make your own catapult! To highlight the works of one of the most impactful African-American female leaders in our history, the Barbara Jordan Freedom Foundation will display an interactive exhibit of Barbara Jordan’s life at the Texas Capitol. From Sunday, February 10 to Saturday, February 16, the exhibit will stand on the ground floor of the Texas Capitol Rotunda North Central Gallery. As always, the exhibit is free and open to the public. The displays are created from the archive housed at Texas Southern University, Barbara Jordan’s alma mater, with contributions from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, where she was a professor for 17 years. - The Rise of Everyday Design: The Arts and Crafts Movement in Britain and America

One of our most popular concerts of the season is our Annual Free Jazz Jam. Last year was so much fun with so many new musicians taking part.
