  1. Mondo Gallery Presents – Heroes in a Halfshell: A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Celebration
    Friday & Saturday, August 24 & 25 | from 12 to 6 p.m. | Mondo Gallery, 4115 Guadalupe St.
    Mondo is stoked to invite TMNT fans to celebrate everyone’s favorite wise-cracking, pizza-obsessed crime fighters and their cast of heroic allies and evil arch enemies in our next gallery show, Heroes in a Half Shell: A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Celebration! Saturday is the final night to view the exhibit.
  2. Salut to Summer
    Friday, August 24 | from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. | Easton Park, 7000 Cardinal Bloom Loop
    Let’s say goodbye to summer with a bang – join Easton Park for a rockin’ night with music by Fair City Fire and tasty sandwhiches from Noble Food Truck and Moojo. Food trucks start at 5:30 pm, the music starts at 6:30 pm, and the party starts when you arrive. Make sure to bring blankets and chairs.

    Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to a FREE movie night at Community First! Village. Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screeningGet there early to explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks. Hot dogs, milkshakes, popcorn, candy and drinks will be available for purchase (cash preferred). The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated.
  4. Back to School STEM Saturday

    Kick off the school year at Girlstart’s Back to School STEM Saturday! Get excited about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) with hands-on activities for the whole family at the Girlstart STEM Center anytime between 9:30 a.m. and Noon. This event is FREE (RSVP suggested) with labs and activity spaces open with hands-on STEM activities.
  5. Kiddie Academy Storytime Live (Pflugerville)
    Saturday, August 25 | from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Kiddie Academy of Pflugerville, 2617 Kelly Ln.
    You are invited to Storytime LIVE!, where Curious George jumps off the page and visits the classroom in person! This special storytime event at Kiddie Academy of Pflugerville is happening at Kiddie Academy of Pflugerville, an educational child care provider. Pflugerville and Austin area children and their families are invited to a fun, FREE, interactive reading at their annual Storytime LIVE! event.
  6. Bubbles’ Big Bash (Buda)
    Saturday, August 25 | from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. | The Learning Experience, 825 Main St.
    The Learning Experience Buda is completing two years on August 22. To celebrate this happy date, they will be hosting a bash party with train rides, bouncing house, face painting, food and games. Bubbles, the elephant, will make an appearance. Bring family and friends to join the party. The more, the merrier!
  7. Austin Summer Musical for Children: Honk!

    Austin Summer Musical for Children is pleased to present HONK!, live on stage this summer! This delightful award-winning musical adaptation of “The Ugly Duckling” is a heartwarming celebration of what makes us special.
  8. Family Sunday Funday
    Sunday, August  26 | from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. | backYARD at Waller Creek
    backYARD at Waller Creek has just the fun the kids will love! On the last Sunday of every month of summer (May 27 through August 26), join backYARD for Family Sunday Funday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The expansive backYARD lawn space will be transformed into the ultimate playground, complete with a bounce house, YARD games like Jenga, yard tic tac toe and cornhole, a balloon maker, face painter, magician as well as live music from local talent. Tickets to Family Sunday Funday at backYARD at Waller Creek are free for kids ages 12 and under, and $5 for adults with backYARD’s full SundayBrunch menu available to order.

  • The Battle of Plum Creek (Lockhart)

    Join to hear this exciting (and true) “Cowboys vs. Indians” tale! The Great Comanche Raid and Battle of Plum Creek changed the course of history for Texans in the 1840’s, and this exciting piece of history happened right here in Lockhart! Join us to hear the whole story from the man who literally wrote a book about it, Donaly Brice. All ages welcome.   • Campfire 101 – Making Campfire S’mores Fun (Lockhart)
