  1. Austin Animal Week – Vulture Presentation
    Friday, April 20 | from 10 to 10:30 a.m. | Austin Nature and Science Center, 2389 Stratford Dr.
    Celebrate Austin Animal Week at the Austin Nature and Science Center! Learn about resident vultures and how they care for them. Meet at the Vulture enclosure.
  2. Kids Create: Slime!
    Friday, April 20 | from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. | Austin Public Library, Yarborough Branch, 2200 Hancock Dr.
    Be prepared to get gross and test out different kinds of slime recipes! Head to the library and create something at a series of events called Kids Create! Sometimes it will be computer code. Sometimes it will be art. Sometimes it will be an engineering challenge. It will always be fun! Recommended for ages 7-12.
  3. Pitch Perfect 3 Free Outdoor Screening
    Friday, April 20 | from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. | The Community Cinema at Community First! Village, 9301 Hog Eye Rd.
    Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to a FREE movie night at Community First! Village. Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screening of Pitch Perfect 3. Get there as early as 6:30 to explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks. Hot dogs, milkshakes, popcorn, candy and drinks will be available for purchase (cash preferred). The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated.
  4. LBJ Presidential Library – Free Block Party
    Saturday, April 21 | from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. | LBJ Presidential Library, 2313 Red River St.
    Opening day of the exhibition “Get in the Game: The Fight for Equality in American Sports.” The exhibit examines the intersection of social justice and sports in the United States and celebrates athletes who have broken barriers and spoken out for equality, both on and off the playing field. Beginning in the late 19th century and continuing through current day, Get in the Game encourages visitors to think about sports as part of an ongoing national conversation and as a vehicle for social change.   5. Blair Woods Family Nature Day  **Cancelled due to weather**

    Join Travis Audubon for a morning of reptile-themed educational activities at Blair Woods Sanctuary, a natural oasis in east Austin! Come see real reptiles, both native and exotic, do reptile-themed crafts, and partake in other fun and family-friendly activities that celebrate our favorite scaly and slithering critters! This event is free and open to the public.

    Celebrate Earth Day at the largest sustainability event in Central Texas. Free musical performances, interactive exhibits, and creative programming makes this event educational (and fun)!
  8. Love Child Mini Market

    South Congress Hotel
    Be there for the first Mini Market hosted by Love Child! The first of its kind in Austin, this is a one-day, pop-up shop at South Congress Hotel with 30 curated vendors dedicated to Mamas and their Minis. Doors will open at 11 a.m. with gift bags for the first 20 guests!
  9. Earth Day Event

    Annual lady bug release, bees, face painting, Mehandi, bees and so much more. Lots of great vendors! Fun for the entire family. Open and free to the public.
  10. Storybook Dance Making at Easton Park
    Sunday, April 22 | from 3 to 4 p.m. | Easton Park, 7000 Cardinal Bloom Loop
    Dance Waterloo is proud to host a six-week Storybook Dance Making program in Easton Park. Children ages 5-10 can join Dance Waterloo in the park for 60 minutes of dancing with mom, dad, grandma, and more. Each class is inspired by a storybook. Dance Waterloo designs each class to incorporate elements of social-emotional learning (SEL) through story time and dance making activities that are fun for both children and adults! Storybook Dance Making is a family dance education program. Guardians are required to participate with children.

  • Animal Architecture Hike (Lockhart)
    Saturday, April 21 | from 10 to 11 a.m. | Lockhart State Park, 2012 State Park Rd., Lockhart
    Join a Master Naturalist on a fun hike to explore the critter engineers of Lockhart State Park! All ages welcome. Wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes. Bring water and apply sunscreen or bug repellent, as needed. No registration required. Meet your guide at the Creekview Trailhead. If driving from park headquarters, take your first left-hand turn, pass the campgrounds, and park along the paved loop. Regular park entrance fees apply ($3/adult and free for children 12 & under).
  • Fishing Fest (Lockhart)
    Saturday, April 21 | from 2 to 4 p.m. | Lockhart State Park, 2012 State Park Rd., Lockhart
    Explore the basics of fishing through four hands-on stations, and take away a fishing fun pack! Stations include how to assemble basic tackle, how to cast, fishing safety, and fish ecology. After the stations, why not try your skills by fishing in the park? Tackle will be available to borrow through our free Tackle Loaner Program on a first come first served basis. They’ll even supply the bait! No fishing license required. Drop in any time between 2 and 4 p.m. All ages and abilities are welcome! Regular park entrance fees apply ($3/adult, free for children 12 & under).
