Matthew McConaughey Chauffeurs UT Students Around Campus

At UT Austin recently, Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey made sure that a group of our beloved ‘Horns got home safely, giving them a surprise lift.

The ride on Monday was part of the school’s Sure Walk program. The program gives students free rides around and off campus every day from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.

While you can usually spot the UT alum at a football game, he’s also been seen numerous times around his alma mater over the past couple of years. In 2015, he took one class of lucky students behind the scenes of his film, The Free State of Jones, seven months before its premiere.

Students can request a SURE Walk ride by calling 512-232-9255 or meet them at the Jester West first floor.

And if McConaughey is somehow still making the rounds on campus a week from now, we can almost guarantee the Sure Walk program will soon be able to say “all ride, all ride, all ride.”

(Sorry. Couldn’t resist the pun.)
