Uchi’s Specials Have Made Their Way Into Loro, A New Asian Smokehouse Concept

It looks like the fusion of smoked meats and Asian fare have officially become a trend in Austin dining, as Chef Tyson Cole’s Hai Hospitality just announced their sixth restaurant concept, Loro. The new restaurant is an Asian smokehouse and bar that will center around grilled and smoked meats, along with inventive sides created by Cole and the Hai Hospitality team.

Loro will find itself at home in south Austin, just south of the bustling corner of South Lamar Blvd and Oltorf Street at 2115 South Lamar Blvd.

“Loro gives our group a chance to try expand on fare that we hint at on our specials at Uchi,” Chef Cole said.  “The space will be airy and inviting, the indoors and outdoors will feel very connected, guests order at the bar and the vibe will be comfortable and casual.”

Adding to that casual comfort is a full bar serving beer, wine, and cocktails. Loro is slated to open in fall 2017.

Loro follows on the heels of the new concept from Ramen Tatsuya, Kemuri Tatsuya. This smokehouse-influenced Izakaya restaurant is already making a big impression on the Austin dining scene (read our review of it here). We look forward to seeing if Loro can do the same.
