Indoor, Outdoor, and Out of Trunks! Here are 2019’s Best Places to Trick or Treat in Austin!

We’re putting a spell on you and rounding up a list of all the bewitching Halloween trick or treat events happening around Austin. In this edition, we’re bringing you all the trick or treating, or trunk or treating, you can take your tots to this season. Most are FREE (it’s what we do best), but we’re also including some other spooktacular events with admission fees. Don’t forget to prep for these monster celebrations by checking the event’s website or calling before you head out in case of any changes or cancellations before you head out to trick or treat in Austin.

Halloween Events

Trunk or Treat for Kids with Special Needs (Round Rock)
Saturday, October 19 | from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. | Seton Medical Center Williamson, 201 Seton Parkway, Round Rock
Join Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department and Williamson Pediatric Rehab for this free trick-or-treating event. A family-centered event, it encourages active participation for children with various disabilities or limitations. Trick or Treat from car to car, trunk to trunk. Costumes encouraged. Bring your trick or treat bags. 

Trunk-Or-Treat (Pflugerville)
Saturday, October 26 | from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Pflugerville Animal Welfare Services, 1600 Waterbrook Drive, Pflugerville
A family-centered event, it encourages active participation for children with various disabilities or limitations. Trick or Treat from car to car, trunk to trunk. Costumes encouraged. Bring your trick or treat bags.
Trunk or Treat is a new spin on Trick or Treating where local businesses and organizations bring a vehicle, decorate its trunk/tailgate and pass out candy as kids “Trunk or Treat” from car to car. Trunk or treating allows kids to have all the trick or treating fun without crossing streets or worrying about traffic. It’s also a great accessibility benefit for those individuals with various disabilities or limitations.

3rd Annual Trunk or Treat
Saturday, October 26 | from 5 to 7 p.m. | UCC Pumpkin Patch, 3500 West Parmer Lane
Over 25 decorated trunks will have both candy and non-food items for all! Enjoy fresh donuts from Biddy B’s Mini Donut Factory, vote for Best Decorated Car, play games, strut down the costume cat walk, stop by the photo booth and finish with story time in The Pumpkin Patch. Pumpkin Patch will be open and for a small donation to their youth group, you can access the kid friendly pumpkin decorating area! All are welcome to this free event.

Our Savior Trunk or Treat 
Saturday, October 26| from 6 to 8 p.m.|Our Savior, 1513 East Yager Lane
Our Savior will have tons of car trunks and truck beds decorated with very fun and/or spooky decorations. Oh, and don’t forget the candy! Families can play exciting games that will have prizes such as gift cards, candy or small trinkets. Enjoy the face painting station or some bubbling punch and spooktacular cookies. Come in costume or just stop by for the candy and games!

Trick or Treat at Hill Country Galleria
Saturday, October 26 | from 2:30 to 6 p.m. | Hill Country Galleria, 12700 Hill Country Boulevard
It’s back! Join for some trick or treating fun at the Hill Country Galleria on Saturday, October 26. Children and pets are encouraged to wear their costumes and enjoy live music, free face painting & kids games in the Central Plaza. Then go store to store to trick or treat at participating retailers!

Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat
Saturday, October 26 | from 4 to 7 p.m. | Manchaca United Methodist Church, 1011 FM 1626
The annual Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat is Saturday, October 26. Dress the kiddos up in their costume and join for an afternoon/evening of fun games, live music, trunk or treat for the kids, bounce houses and hay ride. Stroll through the pumpkin patch, have the kids face painted, decorate cookies and take advantage of many photo opportunities!

Howl-O-Scream

It’s time for the annual Howl-o-Scream! Bring the kids and join us at one of four Community Recreation Centers across Austin for carnival games, treats, and a haunted house! All ages welcome. Attendees can choose from 10 free tickets OR unlimited tickets and a snack for $3.

Trunk-or-Treat to benefit Blue Santa (Round Rock)
Saturday, October 26 | from 5 to 8 p.m. | Round Rock Public Safety Training Center,  2801 N. Mays Street, Round Rock
Free for all ages, this event features a bounce house, carnival games, concessions, raffles, fall crafts, music, and more!

Touch a Trunk and Treat 
Saturday, October 26 | from 2 to 5 p.m. | Bethany Lutheran, 3701 West Slaughter Lane
Touch-A-Truck is a family-friendly event that provides an opportunity for kids of all ages to come and explore the vehicles they love seeing around town.  From fire trucks, ambulance, swat/police, trash truck, farm equipment, tumble buses and more…we have fun covered that day! And the Treat?  This year’s event will also feature trunk or treat vehicles, food trucks, and various photo prop areas for families to enjoy.

Austin SWAT, Fire Dept #29, Dunham Electric, Race Cars, Helicopter (D-Tour Aviation), Military Jeep, The Hulk Truck, EMS…check back for more!

Our annual pumpkin patch will also be open, so stop by and purchase a pumpkin to support our youth mission trip this summer.

The Vine Austin Trunk or Treat
Sunday, October 27 | from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. | Covington Middle School, 3700 Convict Hill Road
The Vine is serious about having fun. On Sunday, October 27, the VineKids are encouraged to wear their fun Halloween costumes to church (no scary costumes, please). Following church, they will have our third annual Trunk or Treat. They have space available for 15 cars to go crazy with their festive designs. Trunks can be hosted by a family, friends, or a VineGroup. Trunks and decorations will be whimsical, fun, light, and festive. Prizes will be awarded for best trunk! They’ll have some non-candy snacks to enjoy as well. This event is open to the public so bring friends!

4th Annual Trunk Or Treat Car Show
Sunday, October 27 | from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. | 701 Pecan Street West, Pflugerville
Enjoy checking out some amazing rides and getting candy too! Brought to you by a family that loves cars and helping the community.

Boo Bash (Georgetown)
Sunday, October 27 | from 1 to 4 p.m. | The Georgetown Square, 103 West 7th Street, Georgetown
Both children and adults are invited to come on down to the Georgetown Square in costume and enjoy trunk or treating around the square. Merchants are open to enjoy the season of witches, goblins, and all those creative creatures out enjoying the afternoon.

Trunk or Treat Great Hills Trail
Thursday, October 31| from 6 to 8 p.m. | 6414 North Hampton Drive
Hope Lutheran Church second annual Trunk or Treat. A safe and fun place for your whole family to come and enjoy Trick or treating. There will be car trunks full of candy and decorations, a bounce house, games, Hotdogs and popcorn. This is a free event. Come and join us. Rain or shine. Call church office 512-926-8574 to register your trunk.

Trunk-Or-Treat (Leander)
Thursday, October 31 | from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.  | Camacho Elementary Parking Lot, 501 Municipal Drive, Leander
The Leander Police Department’s Trunk-or-Treat event is a community project where the police department and the community partner to provide a safe, fun, family friendly alternative to door to door trick-or-treating. This is the first opportunity to start collecting toys for Blue Santa, so they are asking that attendees bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate if they are able. This event includes different car clubs in the area (generally including classic cars, modified cars, or rare cars) that decorate their cars, dress up in costumes, and hand out candy to children. They also have police cars, fire engines, and other emergency services vehicles for the children to look through, some small games for the kids, costume competitions, awards and raffles for the car participants, and some snacks for the families.

Treats on Park Street (Hutto)
Thursday, October 31 | 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.  | Fritz Park, 306 E. Live Oak Street, Hutto
BOO! Treats on East Street is held every year on Halloween and is a fun and safe trick-or-treating experience for children ages 12 & under. This year, the event has been relocated to Hutto’s Fritz Park! Bring the whole family as local businesses, service groups, church groups, volunteers and City Departments come together to host games, activities, candy booths, costume contests, and much more! Help haunt Hutto and provide a scary good time for families. Trunk or Treating happens all evening.

Free Trunk or Treat
Thursday, October 31 | from 6 to 8 p.m. | Hope Lutheran Church, 6414 N. Hampton Drive
A safe and fun place for your whole family to come and enjoy Trick or treating. There will be car trunks full of candy and decorations, a bounce house, games, Hotdogs and popcorn. This is a free event. Come and join us. Rain or shine. Call church office 512-926-8574 to register your trunk.

Shoreline Church Trunk or Treat
Thursday, October 31 | from 6 to 9:30 p.m. | Shoreline Church, 15201 Burnet Road
Join for a great night of food, fun, candy, and costumes! This free event is a blast for the whole family and makes trick or treating safe and easy.

Wells Branch Trunk-or-Treat
Thursday, October 31 | from 6 to 8 p.m. | Katherine Fleischer Park, 2106 Klattenhoff Drive
Like spooky, scary, creepy-crawly or glittery? Then the Wells Branch Trunk-or-Treat is the place to be on Halloween! It’s a fun-filled evening or tricking-or-treating in a safe and controlled environment. Car trunks and truck beds are quite the sight on this night; passing out tasty treats to all they greet. Stop by the photo booth for a complimentary keepsake! This community event is sponsored by the Wells Branch Recreation Department.

Trunk or Treat at Hillcrest Church
Saturday, November 2 | from 10 a.m. to noon | Hillcrest Church, 3838 Steck Avenue
Wear your costume, decorate your trunk, bring some treats and
join us in the parking lot at 10:00 a.m. Enjoy food and drinks, games and music, a bounce house, and fun for the whole family!
