It’s the weekend and the sun is shining for us to enjoy some FREE fun around Central Texas! Whether you are hoping to enjoy the great outdoors, or still looking to cool off in the A/C, these top ten FREE events might just have what you need to make your weekend perfect.

This list contains a mix of family-friendly and adult focused Austin events.

Teacher Appreciation Month

Kid Friendly Yoga
Friday, August 26th | From 9 to 10:30 a.m. | Pease Park, 1100 Kingsbury Street

Come stretch, breathe, move, dance, relax, create, and have FUN! These classes will include age-appropriate yoga and movement- including breathing, poses, games, stories, music, relaxation, meditation, and more. Your little yogi will get to practice fine and gross motor skills, social and group skills, and begin to learn mindfulness and breathing/calming tools. Free and open to the public!

Pease Night

Pease Park Conservancy CEO, Heath Riddles-Sanchez, is hosting a series of Pease Nights this summer alongside Brother Friend! On this evening, Brother Friend brings live music by Graham Wilkinson to Pease Park and will offer beer, wine, and snacks for your delightful summer evening. No pre-registration needed.

Gamblers Day Fan Fest and After Party
Saturday, August 27th | From 11 a.m. to midnight | Stubbs BBQ, 801 Red River

Come celebrate our city’s first professional bull riding team, the Austin Gamblers, at the Fan Fest & After Party at Stubb’s BBQ Saturday August 27. Both Fan Fest and After Party are FREE and all ages welcome!

The Pokemon Club

Fans can play and trade Pokemon cards and battle on their Nintendo devices, or just talk Pokemon. Parents are welcome to relax and chat while their kids are engaged.

Kids Chess Open Play

Lagers and Literature: A Book Fair for Adults

Lagers & Literature is Meanwhile Brewing’s first ever book fair! Shop local book sellers, learn about book & paper arts, explore archives & zines, sign up for or renew your library card, and more. Local author Keri Blakinger will also be signing her memoir, “Corrections in Ink,” from 1-2pm!

Open Mic for Musicians
