Free Day of Yoga – All day Monday, September 5. Participating studios across the Austin area will offer FREE classes throughout the day as an opportunity for people of every age and fitness level to try yoga for the first time, experience a new style of yoga, visit a new studio or take a class from a new instructor, share yoga with friends and family, and discover the benefits of yoga. Waller Creek Live – Wednesday, September 7 from 6-7:30 p.m. Do you like music, comedy, and parks? Check out the first Waller Creek Live! Hosted by Roy Lazorwitz and Redd Jefferson of The New Movement theatre, this FREE event is a one-of-a-kind show. Expect laughs, music, special guests, prizes, and a lot of fun. Science Under the Stars – Gotta Catch ‘Em All: Real Life Pokémon – Thursday, September 8 at 7:00 p.m. Pokémon Go has encouraged everyone to go outside and catch Pokémon with their phones. Did you know that most Pokémon are based on real animals, many of which you can find right here in Texas? And you can use apps just like Pokémon Go to find them – while helping scientists with their research at the same time. Learn the many ways in which citizen science has helped researchers around the world–and how you can get involved, too. Shakespeare at the Market: Twelfth Night (RSVP) – Friday, September 9 at 6:30 p.m. Present Company, in partnership with Whole Foods Market, presents the third annual Shakespeare at the Market on the rooftop of the downtown Austin Whole Foods Market. Seating begins at 6:30 for a 7:00 p.m. performance. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or short chair, and grab picnic goodies before the show. Promoting the philosophy of “accessible & sustainable art,” Shakespeare at the Market is a FREE event, however a $20 donation is suggested for guests able to support. Reserve your tickets here.
